Pleasant location, 30/45 mn track to go up to the stupa. A new path has recently been made, from the point you leave the main track (in a sharp turn, on your right hand side. Unfortunately the recent works on the stupa itself do not have resisted last winter rains...

Its a Budhist Stupa located west of Shah Allah Ditta Caves on one of the passes on Margalla Hills that connects Shah Allah Ditta area with Khanpur Lake. It is around 30 minutes walk from the car park of Shah Allah Ditta caves. A well defined foot track lead all the way up to stupa and than continues towards Haripur direction. Its a small stupa though the whole complex scattered on the hill includes ruins of a few more hutments and a small mosque that might be from Mughal era. There is also a plain deep area that might have been used as a pond when this place was in use.Its a wonderful hiking site for a half day hike from Shah Allah Ditta side. If one is more adventurous, a full day hike with a descend towards Khanpur Lake can be undertaken. The area is beautiful and very scenic.

About 2000 years old stupa which was built by Buddhists. It is locates at top of a mountain of Margla Hills. The place is visible from Shah Allah Ditta caves. Distance is just over 2 km. It takes about 90m to reach at the place. On the next of the mountain, it is the city of Taxila, which was once a centre of Buddhist religion.

The hike to the stupa is around 2.5 kilometers! The path is mostly fine with a few dangerous spots. The view from the stupa and along the path to it is simply breathtaking. If you like hiking and admire a place thats serene then this place fits the bill perfectly.

Excavated in 2015 by the government. The stupa is from the 2nd century and is standing tall. The brick wall is marvelous and the top of it has an excellent view one side you can see taxila and on the other you see Shah Allah ditta.Standing there you can imagine the old route going in the valleys of the margalla and people travelling on it. Its a wonderful quite place, with good hiking trails leading from it. If youre an up for an adventure you can even go to khanpur damn from this place.
