My first experience was a good one. The food was tasty with acceptable rates. The ambience provided by the nature is very comforting but the huts need a lot of improvement. Cracked walls, poor lighting and an overall devastated state of the small infrastructure. A small investment in better crockery and seating will go a long way.The kitchen is surrounded by orange trees, grassy plains and a badminton court.
The food was good. Mantu was good.... but dont try the toilet. Its pathetic
Excellent place for Gilgit Traditional foods. Chapchoro and other traditional foods are available in fair price. Open air ambience student cafe serving quality and delicious traditional foods as well as other options. One would enjoy having lunch, brunch and dinner. There are also tea and coffee options.
Very Good place For Visit with Family.
Nice place but the previous place was much better.
Italian pizza paratha and Mantu
Quite, lone, understated, aromatic tea, good dumplings, it doesnt get any better.
Maantu Gul Kitchen was a local joint in small place near Faisal Mosque. Some times back it has shifted to a larger area in vast open land at - Arts & Crafts Village near Pak- China friendship centre, Shakarparian Road, Islamabad. In cold weather, open air, sitting around Bonfire, having hot noodle soup was a treat of its kind. For all those who liked Maantu kitchen will like it more at this new place. If you have kids, then do bring them along as there is lots of space to play and run around.
Great place and good food
Good for safariits just a jungle nothing else
On a sunny day in winters its a good experience, food is good, fresh open air seating space gives a moment of get away from hustle bustle of the city. Staff is friendly however the service isnt as fast as expected but the best part is that food was served fresh. Chapshuru was so yumm that i forgot to take its picture, its a bread (paratha without oil) with immense filling of chicken. It was exactly similar to the one we had in Hunza. Total bill and menu attached for price estimation.
Good place to skoon out in nightNo crowds no rushThanda mahol
Good food must visit.
Peaceful place....greenery....and good food...
Maantu Gul Kitchen offers a great variety of tasty Chinese, Hunza and Pakistani Cuisine. Desi Pizza Paratha, Mamtu , Chap Shoro, Dowdo Soup are their specialities. An open and lush green environment of Arts and Crafts Villlage of Shakar Parian National Park. Best for families in the evening. Maantu Gul has improved quality of services over the period of time. I am uploading some latest clicks for viewers.
The place is highly recommended the dumplings were awesome. We visited Pakistans monument on the 8th of Jan 2020, on our way back took a stopover as per peoples recommendations and the decision was perfect.
Good place to spend some peace time, full of greenery around it with a badminton court and yes, good food, best tea and some good MUSIC. Also a suitable place for small celebrations. Overall, one can spend a peaceful time there away from the hustles of daily routine.
Maantu gul is famous for its paratas and was located previously near Faisal masjid but now thy have shifted to near Pak China exhibition Center. Well after few visits to the new place i have noticed sever taste and quality decline in food. Most of seating is outdoor so take something warm in winters, thy do provide fire but .. will in summer its a food place for open seating and fr a good chit chat.
A great place to just chill. Dont expect it to be the best restaurant, but if youre into chilling at a quiet spot with good chai and snacks, this can be your go-to place.
Adorable location
Overpriced dhaba so to say. Only giving 2 stars because they had good tea and pratha but the sitting is desi. The mahol is desi. Fries for 200rps??? This was the most expensive tea i have ever had.
The best place for hunza cuisine lovers, a variety of tastes and traditional types of pizza served in full nature.
We ordered cheese fries which had unmelted cheese and the garlic mayo sauce was basically just mayo the fires were not great as well, and the aloo paratha had this weird taste. and lastly the tea can be compared to hot milk, as in it did not have the taste of tea. the only thing good about the place was the calmness and the greenery.
Love the place and its tea. Maybe only place for maantu
MANTOO GUL Kitchen *Regional Brand* is now open in Sector F.11 Islamabad Very soon...
One of the most favorite places for tea ️
Beautiful view n friendly staff and taste is awesome
A fantastic place to enjoy GB foods in open air.
The pizza paratha is literally the best. We were surprised to see the size of it.
Patatha Pizza , delicious , must try once - cool place - high end customers ...
Good place
Awful! It has nothing to do with Thar cuisine despite its name! More than 70% of proposed menu items were not available! Don’t waste your time going there !
Its a good winter hangout place. Imagine a night with friends jamming, guitars and singing, coffee/chai, aloo ka paratha and bonfire? Thats how this place usually is during a normal winter night if Islamabad. Serving Desi munchkins like pakorey, samosey, parathey and some Gilgit-Baltistani items like Maantus. Very pocket friendly. People usually go there with groups of friends, hanging out for two three hours, doing multiple rounds of chai and spending no more than Rs.200,300 each. Also, you can do your own bar b q here... So all in all, a good place to freshen up.
Bad food, good service, excellent location.
Best view, environment and food
Wide open area, greenery, fresh air, good food
It’s a great place to relax especially in the evening and since it’s in Art & Craft Village the place is really beautiful. The staff is very friendly and service is quick too. Their specialities are cheese parathas and mantu, however if you know the difference you’ll call it Mamtu (Hunza Dumplings) not Mantu (Afghan Dumplings) and preparing them takes time so if you order it do keep in mind the time factor.Over n All it’s great place for snacks with family and friends.
Awesome location for sitting, chit chat with friends.
Awesome place
Excellent and yummy .... love the different variety of paratha .... recommend to everyone but try the food when it’s hot. Take away doesn’t taste as yum as the freshly cooked
Grate place to go specially in the night time
This dhabba hybrid place is a little away from the mainstream hustle bustle dhabba spots in Islamabad. The ambiance is pretty as well. The food isnt bad either. Its reasonably priced and tastes what it should taste like.
Nice peaceful place with nice different breakfast.
One the best restaurant based in Islamabad if you want to taste local hunza food. The place, garden and the staff arr really amazing. Love this place. A must visit..
A nice getaway and cool combination of east and west (including the sub cultures).Food is innovative. Service quick. Staff friendly. Open air sitting arrangement also adds to the allure.
Awesome Food
Its fantastic place for families. Must try the chicken cheese paratha.
Its name is very attractive. Earlier it was situated near Islamic University campus Faisal Mosque Islamabad. Its taste is just ok, not anything extraordinary. Rates are a bit on higher side, may be due to the fact that it is located in a hi-fi area. May be you visit it 2/3 times to have a better review.
Mantu and Few Parathas are good! Ambience is great
Loved it! Good hut nature spot.. Delicious Pizza Parhata. Good place to sit and relax. Nice and friendly staff, quick service and good quality. They have more variety on their menu.
Environment is quite good but food quality should be more better
Avg food but good environment to relax
Pethatic service.Really disappointed
It will be your secret place, must visit. Shhhhh!
Best Aalo Cheez Pizza Paratha, perfect place for Birthday or Family & Friends get together
I have spent an evening here with my friend last month. They are offering delicious Pakorra and Tea. We ordered only Tea and Pakorra and we did not regret because it was our first time. Will visit this Hidden Kitchen again soon. Go and enjoy the delicious Pakorra with Hot Cup of Tea.
The cafe sucks new year event by adventure club was great
Nice places and nice person Khalid bai
Service was very poor. Peacefull environment, quality of food is OK.
Excellent food..couzy place
Normal taste
Lovely place for sitting and having mantoos...
The pricing of an expensive place with the upkeep of a dhaaba , Very poor value for money.Waste of money.Ordered chicken cheese paratha.. was SO MUCH disappointed. Looks delicious, but tastes bad
Too much insects and flies flying onto food and drinks. Very bad communication manners of waiters. Not recommended, especially for families. Please avoid sucha a spot, which is there for couples who do not want to be seen...
Scenary is v nice location is beautiful but food is just ok
A very nice out door place with quite privacy
Not so special - Chapshru was nowhere near to what I ate in Nagar at a roadside dhaba.
Such a great and peaceful placeLoved it️
Tried manto special desi pizza paratha taste was so normal. Price was too high and cardemom tea dont contain any taste of cardemom.
Because maantu gul chicken cafe chicken chees paratha soooo tasty
A great place to relax. Great view and location. Their alu parathas are the best
Good but AloneThis is the best of the fine places for snacks items. Taste ingredients decor and presentation are the most noticeable things in the medium where people came especially, Ive seen very few walk in. This is what we are extravagant about ultimate food and ambiance to experience.
Nice place to have a cup of tea.
Open air not preferable for summer lunch and in humidity season as only fans available. Best to eat chicken Partha, chicken Karachi and mantos
Prices are high and food quality is not good. Even some food is waste but they are still using it
Expensive and inefficient staff training
If I could give zero stars I would. Since I run a catering establishment myself I can honestly say this is by far the worst place I’ve dined in Pakistan. We sat at a wonky ‘ludo’ covered Table on plastic chairs on a weed covered lawn. There were curry stains all over the table from previous guests which wasn’t cleaned. We ordered the so called speciality dish of mantu and a shahi paratha. The shahi paratha was delicious. The mantu dish served was just plain dumplings filled with onions and barely any meat lacking flavour. Furthermore there was no channa daal or yoghurt or even any coriander. I personally think these guys don’t even know what mantu is. There were no other people dining. The ambience was terrible. To that extent it left me with no other choice than to come home and leave a negative review. Absolutely disgusted
Very good food. And peaceful place
Best cafe for some special cuisines
Nice to sit and chill
Good for events like birthdays, anniversaries, engagement, staff is highly cooperative and educated
Awesome place, peaceful place, natural beauty, awesome food
I had chicken cheese paratha, it was delicious. Didnt like Mantu much, which is their specialty. They need to drastically improve their order processing as it takes more time to deliver the order than they tell us. Location is quite calm and natural.
Open air siting. Natural ambience.
Go to Pindi Mantu, everything tastes better and has better quantity.
It is shifted to a place beside pak-china friendship center.
