Khanpur Dam or Khanpur Canal Park is 57 kilometers from Islamabad.Beautiful and fresh water lake for picnic.Good place for family picnic.Around the lake there is no good hotel, therefore I suggest you must take your food stuff from home or take from the city market and fruits and drinking water as well.The boat and the speed boat are fantastic. There is also the parachute fly available on very reasonable rates about Rs.4000 per head.The boat rate for long drive in the lake is Rs.1000 and for short drive is Rs.500, ten persons capacity into the boat Per head 100 and 50.The speed boat drive rate is Rs.800 to Rs.600, two persons capacity.Negotiate is up to you to get more discount in the rate.swimming does not allow in the lake but you can swim in the canal that is just beside.Children may enjoy the swims but limited swims.

Really great place to visit. Dont over pay for boat trip. Some people will charge you up to 3000 rupees. But its only around 500 rupees to 1000 rupees for the boat trip depending on which boat you want to take. Be careful. And for jetski ride is only 300 . Route to khanpur dam roads are rough not great to many bad broken roads and trucks which slows you down. But overall the place is worth visiting. Everyone will enjoy. Thank me later.

Its not a lake, its the spill-way canal for Khanpur Dam. The waters really cold brrrrr! And very clean. Theyve put up nets and have also improved the steps going into the water. Great place to cool off and have some fun time with friends. Not a family spot on weekends for sure.
