Excellent place to stay or dine in.Best experience.Staff is really courteous and the most importantly the peaceful atmosphere of this place. Spend a night or two and unwind yourself. Though they need to improve the taste of food. Food is not impressive here.

They maintain the standards quite well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good although some time butter is not available. House keeping is also commendable. There are no electric kettle in rooms to prevent accidental fire but a hot water dispenser in the lobby or staircase could be a solution. Rooms are small so extra mattresses could also be a little narrower as full size one takes space and they are generally meant for kids. Rooms are a little expensive as no gym, spa, sauna or pool is available. Location is slightly off from city centre but it’s good to be at a quieter place. The main lobby needs a little extension and similarly the back side exit could be made in to a small lobby, as it has great view of lawns, fruit orchard and mountains.

Gilgit serena is a good place for safety point of view . They are hospitable and have helped even when there is no room available.They have a bit difficult steep road entrance and standard of their lobby washrooms was not up to the mark(as I visited only those).Overall good place to crash in

Beautiful property facing the mountains and Gilgit. It is special just to walk around the gardens. The staff is incredibly nice and efficient. Shower is warm with good pressure. The wifi manages but is not too strong (from room 216). There is a decent sized buffet in the morning with local dishes, fruit, breads, and cereals. Water runs really loudly on the toilet.

If you’re looking for an amazing royal couple experience then you have no other choice than Gilgit Serena and if you cant afford the room then atleast take your spouse for a lunch or dinner in there..Trust me the luxury and royalty of this hotel will amaze you.Place your order and go for a walk in the garden.Their food is excellent and very authentic.Complimentary service are quite good. There are couple of antique shops on the ground floor if you’re an antique collector then must visit those shops (though they are quite expensive)

Best hotel in Gilgit and Hunza. I loved the food, especially the complimentary breakfast.I would have given this place a 5 star rating but I don’t think the standards are up to par yet . WIFI doesn’t work as advertised, extremely slow to a point that you are unable to use it and the exit to the hotel seems like an afterthought (gravel road)Mr. Sarwant Majeed next time please ask both checkout guest how they value their stay. The hotel was booked in my name and email but my wife was sent the survey on my email. I’m guessing it had to do with the fact that she holds a German passport.Overall stay was great and the staff was super courteous.

Good and Nice Loking Place

The best hotel to stay in, everything is perfect the staff, the management, the interior, rooms, buffet etc.Also everyone is so welcoming and very professional.Only the wheel chair ramp is missing but the GM said there will be lift and ramp by the next year!

Its probably the best hotel in Gilgit but lacks some basic stuff. The most irritating thing about the hotel is internet that does not work at all, there is no 4G coverage in Gilgit so you are totally cut off. The 2nd challenge is food and lack dinning options. There is only one restaurant and that too serves substandard food.The rooms are clean, washroom are small.Beds are comfortable.Staff is courteous and very helpful.There is a small gym, a car rental service and an ATM on-site.

Perhaps the best hotel in Gilgit but not a 5 Star that one is used to see in Islmabad, Karachi etc. Rooms are small and washrooms are very small, not of the standard of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast, as compared to many other equivalent hotels, is just basic. Service is very good.

Serene Hotels chain in allover Pakistan is very good. They are not just the hotels, they are a brand now. The best thing is the view of the dinning room and the rooms. When you sit at the restaurant while watching the whole city, its breathtaking. Similarly, when you open the balcony of your room, the view is fantastic. Service and the attitude of the staff also deserves appreciation.

As expected of any Serena Hotels, the one in Gilgit was spectacular. Location wise it is situated in the best catchmint area and commute to various places is easy. The hotel is fabulously decorated with Gilgits culturally symbolic craftwork. Room comes with the best facilities and amenities. Hotel staff was amazingly cordial and helpful.

By far the best (read below for qualification of this description) hotel in Gilgit catering for that particular market. Not cheap but in this class there is no other choice of comparable hotel. Looks beautiful from outside and the gardens. However, the insides are very dated as are the fixtures and fittings! Theyre from a bygone era! Despite charging top whack prices, its clearly obvious that other than day to day cleaning etc, very little has been spent in renovations and upgradation! Furniture is looking very tired.For a small double room, price was 26,000 per night but as there is no tax in Gilgit-Baltistan, that is the price you pay! The credit card machine at the hotel rarely if ever works so make sure you have cash on you to pay for your accommodation! It did not work for us, and for any other guests either during our stay! Some guests had to drive in to town to get cash before being able to checkout! This could be due to unreliable internet in the area but is disconcerting for many as at their prices you may need Lacs in cash just to pay their bills!The restaurant upstairs serves basic breakfast buffet style but views are beautiful from the restaurant. For evening meal it was a hell of a challenge trying to explain to the waiters and managers that my wife is a vegetarian and did they have anything suitable for her! She gave up and ended up eating cold chips which were probably from the afternoon sitting left overs!My burger came cold and undercooked and again trying to explain to the waiter the problem was a challenge as he couldnt understand why I wanted it redone! The manager took it away and after waiting another 45 minutes, we just gave up and had the left over chips!Not what one would expect from a so called 5 star hotel especially the Serena brand!However, Serena has absolutely no competition in the area so I guess they know its a captured market for a certain clientele. Hence taking customers for granted is their business model, charging 5 star prices for a barely 2/3 star accomodation and very substandard dining experience!The location and views are its best attributes, however when leaving from side entrance, it is straight in to what can be described as driving thru a shanty town! Narrow streets, with open gutters, broken potholed roads etc etc.If there was even a half decent alternative available in Gilgit, Ive no doubt most people would give this hotel a wide berth and avoid! However, there is no other choice, so like us many others will pay the exorbitant prices for a very low quality accomodation and experience!The Aga Khan foundation should be embarrassed by this level of service being offered by the Serena Group of hotels!

I tried Serena buffet (2000 per head including taxes), food taste was not good. Only 2 items in BBQ (Chicken Boti and fish fried). Very few dishes that too casual and cheaper one.Staff was very courteous and nice. They deserve appreciation. Management should review the menu of buffet.Recommended for one time visit only.

I stayed here in 2013 a nice hotel in northern region about a 10 minutes drive from gilgit airport and 5 minuta drive from general bus stand of gilgit city, and most secure hotel in the city as well I enjoyed me stay here winter.

Visited Gilgit Serena last week and found the same standard of Serena Services as they provide in other cities of Pakistan. Had dinner there and enjoyed the tasty food.
