If you need to park your car, go at least one hour before the time, and go round and round, searching a parking lot. You may find a place sometime, behind the Vihara Maha Devi Park. As they (The VFS GLOBAL security staff) say, there is no toilet for visitors, you need to finish-up all your needs before you go to the VFS GLOBAL. If you go with someone else, they have to stay on the pavement outside the VFS GLOBAL building till you get your job done, may be 2 or 3 hours depending on the crowd entered. The officers in side the office, are user-friendly.

Staff inside are professional and helpful. Once you go in the process is very efficient and if you take everything needed the process will take a maximum of 1 hour (Talking about Visiting Visa to Aus). Scheduling and appointment is also easy through their website. Dont go early because theyll not take you in until its your appointment time.Note the following however,1. No parking, youll have to park miles away so it is advisable not to come in your own vehicle if you are driving. The area is not safe to park and leave your vehicles.2. Theyll not let anyone other than the applicant/s go inside the front gate. So if someone comes with you theyll have to wait in the pavement.3. Most annoying thing is there are no washrooms for visitors!!4. No card payments are accepted. So youll have have cash ready for all the payments.5. Youll have to take a printout of the appointment confirmation generated in their website once you compete the appointment. The security at the front gate will check this and youll not be allowed of you dont have a printed confirmation. Phone photos are not accepted :/

I asked VFS staff to reschedule appointment, the staff member just said I have to wait for 24 hours. However, I was able to cancel the initial appointment and schedule a new one without their help. I am expecting, the staff should able to advice the customers about the best way. The staff were followed the standard guidelines, which will not directing them to provide better service to the customers. My suggestion is that the staff should listen to the customer requirement and offer help to meet their visa requirements. Further asked any possibility to email VFS Sri Lanka one missing document, as my father did not had any email address or a smart phone with him. The only thing they told me he must have that hard copy....

I missed my appointment but staff considered my humble request and accommodate myself by consulting with respective officers. They were very positive and pleasant, treated me very well and supported me to get my requirement fulfilled. What I could see from the behaviour of the staff that they get good induction of their job role and orientation and further they go through regular training. Appreciate management for that investments in your staff which deliver great results while serving in highly diversified customer base. All the very best. Thanks

I had my visa few days back from here. There is no parking space so i had to come by train. I came with my mom for my mothers visa application and i couldnt even enter the gate so i had to wait out side in the rain standing and people here out side smoking so much that i couldnt breath. I get that only the applicant can enter but there must be at least a waiting room for the person who accompanied the applicant. There isnt even a restaurant nearby. Ive never been humiliated this much in my entire life. Im extremely disappointed in the service in this place.

Please note that you need to being a printed copy of your reference number, otherwise security want let you in ( phone photos not accepted.Had to wait for 6 hours in side to do a online application, not acceptable by any standered.Some of the staff are friendly and helpful but the overall organization is poor.

Their regular service works just fine. Does not need to waste time on queues & the staff is pretty efficient too. But make sure to be on time for your appointment. I dont think the premier service is needed unless youre willing to spend few extra bucks.Enjoyed the service.

They were very helpful and cooperative in organizing my documents. They have photocopy and image services within the office which is very helpful with certain forms also provided. Parking is a problem and they do not accept card payments.

Although they suggest you to opt in to the premium service which takes one hour (Where their staff will be with you and handle all procedures until the end of the process) the standard lounge works just fine.I was so close to paying upwards of LKR 6K but decided against it. The standard lounge took me just under an hour to go through the necessary counters.Pay close attention to the screens for your number to show up.

I requested for a British visa in Jan ‘19.Online application was duly filled spending much time. Photos were obtained as requested but on arrival at their office I found the place fairly disorganized. There was no ushering or announcements being made so applicants were left guessing at every step !I had to personally appear at the counters to announce that my appointment was at 10.30am and the time was 10.35am. I was casually given more documents to fill and separate my documents ! People had to sit and fill those documents as they don’t provide a table.The overhead TV screens were calling out number .........now where do one get one of them from ? Had to copy others to realize that it was given at a counter. Got it ! Waited and waited for the reference number to be called but it never was even at 12 noon (the appointment was for 10.30am). Had to show my displeasure to trigger those floating boys and girls (showing their ‘official status’) to action. Finally was called up at 12.30pm and it took just 5mnts to do the job !!What a thrashy ‘disservice’ to the UK and their reps the British HC in Sri Lanka. Be warned and do not expect much

Awful seats. All of the seats inside & out side which will make you sit here for hours are made out of metal and make you slip out in minutes. Best for train stations but not for a place like this. Although there’s a appointment time they never take you in for that particular time frame. They will not call you unless you go and confront them. It’s most of the time first come first basis.Passport collection is at 11:00 which I do not know why. Where as they can start issuing it at 9 it self since a lot of people visit here from far away. Getting collected by 11 is half of the day is gone.UK visa need not have a photograph. Even if you do not have there is a small studio sorta thing which you can do everything.

Do not expect to enter without a prior appointment which is quite impossible given that they rarely pick up ! You can find a massive queue every working day and the earlier you go the better it is. Helpful security personnel and location easy to find off borella junction!

Employees are very friendly and helpful. Everything is well managed to get your work done with minimum time. However you might run into some problems if you are a non English speaker.Make sure you bring printouts of the appointment and biometric letters, because printouts around that place is crazy expensive.

Go with an appointment. Although it tempts to think walk in appointees would be served faster after paying 6000 odd rupees, its the other way.Has to be in the queue which ever the social strata you are from. Processing speed is much slower for walk in appointees. Therefore plan trip way ahead. Book an appointment. Get the job done.

Called them to check why my Father’s biometric result haven’t been submitted to the immigration department even after 3 weeks. I’ve selected Sinhala language to speak but they said they don’t have anyone who speaks Sinhala on that day. What the heck is wrong with these people. Isn’t this Sri Lanka?? Walk in submission (3 May 19) was reasonably good, efficient and well organised process. Perhaps the biometrics took a little longer to be called in, otherwise end-to-end could have finished in less than 1 - 1/2 hours.Waiting outside the premises in a line (almost in the sun/rain/humid is not the best, could be improved. Previous location at Access building was better in that respect.More importantly, visa decision time of 15 working days is way too long - given that passport is too struck for that period. Of course, this is perhaps very little to do with VFS Global UK something to work on.

Good Service. Staff if pleasant. Ready to help and I saw staff assisting in Sinhalese, English and Tamil. Make sure all documents are ready, it will be easy.However theres a lot of processing time where you have to sit and wait for a while to goto the next counter. So be ready.

Be careful, the staff may encourage one to take the premium service package, but thats and additional 5K, and of no use. One has to spend the same amount of time as on the normal service and absolutely no special service offered, even if you are with an infant. And appointments given online mean nothing, hence you have to stand (sit) in the queue. This is the problem with Sri Lanka, punctuality means nothing and absolutely no regard ”customers time schedule.

Well organized placeI went with out an appointment sent about 2 hours there for the full process. If you go without a appointment I recommend going in morning as early as possible. If it is not urgent you can always get an appointment from their website. Security person was little annoying. Once you get in the building staff is great.

Easy process. Applied for UK and Schengen visa through them.Fill in your application online and make an appointment online.Make sure you have all the documents needed (its on the VFS site depending on where your going). If you dont have all the required docs there is a chance you have to go back and get it and come another day.

The location of vfs is ideal. Its just less than a kilometer from Maradana rail station. The staff is good. The security staff is also good but some of them are over-reacting. The old gentlemen who is doing the photocopy and photography is doing an exceptional job. Only thing is missing inside is a place to get a print out. This never happened before but last time when i went in at 12pm and was there till 5pm. We thought at the time it was great if they have a snack bar inside.

They dont allow bags in nor do they have any place to accommodate outside nor do they inform you in your appointment letter of such a thing, so best bring only a folder file , , made this complain to a so called manager she acted in a very incompetent manner. they should train their staff on proper etiquette when servicing customers.

One of the worst places to attend VFS UK application centre in general its a failure for me. They dont bother about the applicants. Specially there system is a mess earlier we used to attend for appointment very easily now they have made it so complicated and people tend to make a payment of rs. 7000 if there is no booked appointment which is one of the biggest scam for me. I hope they resolve this pretty soon.

Passing the security is like going to the presidential palace. No place to wait outside and no seats. Had to stand in the sun till the appointment time. Security is rude. The staff inside the office is better and helpful. Im not sure why the same can be done with the security and arrangements outside the office. After all we pay additionally for their service

Parking our car was very difficult and we were forced to park in a no parking area. Our appointment was at 10.30 AM. However we were called to submit our documentation at 12.30AM. Two hour delay. The VFS staff were very courteous and efficient, and our submission (three adults) was completed within half hour. Thank you

Its a nice place, things are done systematically and perfectly. One can have a peace of mind when you are there. They can even return the passport and other related original documents back to your home or office by courier. If you go through standard submission process you have to pay for the courier. If you go through premium submission the courier is free. If you dont like courier service one can go to their office physically and collect it. I have applied for 5-day priority service and purchased the gold premium package (which has promised SMS updates and so many other services) from them.Now it is been seven days, and didnt receive a single update about where my passport is.Their phone number is not working and the email address is not working.When I sent an email (to the only email I could find on the internet), it gives an automatic reply asking me to visit a link, which doesnt even exist.

Its pretty well organized and quick service. Staff is very helpful in directing where people should go etc.However, they do need to fix their lighting. Most of the lights were flashing and about to die off, which makes it very difficult for customers to read and fill documents.Its a hassle that the place doesnt have parking. Considering that they do charge a significant amount as service charge for be great if they did include parking. Even paid parking would be a nice to have.The cash only policy is also a hassle.

The place dont have any kind of parking nor it has a placed to be seated while you wait for your appointment. You will have to stand in a queue while your appointment comes up.Went there with my mom. She is 64 and they didnt let me even go through the gate to help her. She could barely walk but still they said its their policy only the applicant can go inside. So if you are accompanying an elderly person be ready for this.Also they provide minimum support for the elderly people who has difficulty in communication in English. Specially if the only language the person speak is Sinhala be extra careful. If you speak Tamil then there are lot of people you can get help. But if you speak Sinhala you wont get much help.There are no official that you can talk about this kind of situations. Everything in the outside is controlled by the security guard. And they seems to bend all their rules for some people, probably because of some bribe.Also dont fall in to their so called VIP service its five times higher than the normal service, the only extra thing you would get is a cup of coffee.

Although they get your things done. They are extremely strict about who gets inside the office. You cant go in without online appointment reservation. Whatever your need may be make an appointment online and print that out before coming otherwise youll never get past the main gate.And even though i had an appointment, just to give biometric i have waited for four hours until my ticket get called. So be prepared for long waits.

Walk in appointments have to queue outside in the Colombo heat and its terrible. I had a bad first impression as they told me I cant take my bag in and the website said no such detail.When I finally got in, the service was quick and everyone was nice and hospitable. I went to apply for UK Visa. The officer received and processed my document at the VFS had no sense at all as how the document should be kept in a manner that is easy for any official in the embassy to review them. She took all the supportive documents, did not even check for any accuracy, did not even worry about the ordering of the documents -- just put them into a parcel said all is good. Very strange !!

Opens on time, every operation happens in a well organized manner, so no delays. You are not allowed to pay using credit or debit cards, so make sure you have enough money in cash for your payments. No parking facilities. It is good if you can catch a taxi to reach here.

I spent three hours at the VFS Visa Centre to lodge my application for the UK Visa. This was although I had a prior appointment. However the accommodation inside is comfortable. The scrutinising of the documents is done initially and it takes a while. Take A4 size copies of all documents to be submitted including two copies each of the biometrics page and alterations and observations pages of the current passport. The copies must all be upright. I took all the originals but the staff did not look at the originals. Any photocopies can be taken at VFS Centre upon payment. The srutinising of the documents is followed by the scanning of the documents which also takes time. A fee of about Rs 3960 was levied for scanning documents, Immigration and SMS service etc., The fee has to be paid to the cashier following the scanning of the documents. Finally the biometrics have to be done. It is easy to fill the visa application online but it takes a couple of hours to do so. I had problems in obtaining an appointment online. It was resolved only when I used a gmail address. The visa processing time is 15 working days. I did a covering letter but it was returned to me as it was considered not necessary. It is better to park on Deans Road and walk or take a trishaw to VFS. It is hard to find parking on Arnold Ratnayake Mawatha,
