Its the largest university of Asia by its area,it has students from almost 300km radious because in south of punuabeducational institutes are rare and literacy rate is extremely lower thn other areas,there are about 80 programmes offered upto phd, this university has been transformed from jamia abasia which was established by nawab of Bahawalpur in early 19th century,its an automous instituon with having its rank 6th in whole country ,it is operated and administered by Vice chancellor who directly reports to Chancellor or Governor of Punjab.

Baghdad campus is very far from city but they make it like heaven in desert. All the building cover alot of area which makes university very attractive. Environment is little bit paindu but it is improving as quality of education improvise by time.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), colloquially known as Islamia University, is apublic university located in Bahawalpur,Punjab, Pakistan.Islamia University began as Jamia Abbasia, a religious university established in Bahawalpur in 1925, following the academic pursuits of Al-Azhar University in Egypt. In 1975, Jamia Abbasia was declared a general university and renamed as The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
