We walked in with a jammed sewing machine and tension. . . not just the machine. . .and walked out with smiles, jokes, and a sewing machine ready to work again.

Being new to sewing machine sewing I was totally heartbroken when on my first try, the sewing machine just quite working - handwheel locked up, couldnt figure out the issue. Well, it was a nice surprise when I walked in to the sewing center - everyone was so nice and Rick helped fix my machine (apparently it just needed some oil!). I was in and out in 10 minutes and I cant wait to get started on this project and be able to go back for supplies for my next project!! They have everything you could ever need! Thank you!!

Hands down the best experience Ive ever had getting my sewing machine repaired! It was a simple fix, just some lint stuck in the bobbin holder. They fixed it right there on the spot! I thought I wouldve had to wait a week and come back. This is such a lovely gem of a place in Ann Arbor full of all your sewing needs. Today I took my machine in expecting to have to leave it and wait a week to get it back. Nope! I received help right away. He looked at my machine while I waited and fixed it up and sent me home with a machine all ready to roll.I love Ann Arbor Sewing Center. Rick did a great job evaluating my Bernina sewing and embroidery machine’s performance. He was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Thanks for taking a look at my super old quaint portable White sewing machine yesterday. I came in on a whim to see if you could fix it up and you immediately took a look at it, gave it some TLC and sent me on my way - no charge! I took in my sewing machine in for a bad Bobin case, expecting to leave it for a few weeks. The Tech repaired it while I waited! Such a nice guy said it wasn’t too difficult and didn’t charge me for the work! Wow!

My wife loves it, she states that everyone working there is polite and helpful.

These people are so helpful! My machine was broken and other stores said it would be over a week and very expensive to evaluate the problem. I took mine here and Rick fixed it in 5 minutes for free!

This was my first time in this store, (3 weeks ago), I immediately liked it. It is very clean and well organized. There seems to be everything you could possibly need for sewing or quilting. I loved the wall art, it gave me many ideas of what I would like to do or learn next. Lisa greeted me and asked if i needed any help, which i did. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She showed me where to get all the items needed to complete a kit I was interested in. I even signed up for a class she will be teaching and I immediately joined. This class will be tomorrow and I’m excited to see what i can learn. Thank you Lisa!

I have heard so many compliments and raves about you.I have a very good fellow quilter, that wanted me to take my machine to you to get looked at. At the time I had already made an appointment to have another repair person do a cleaning. It has an issue that he thought he had fixed. The issue is back, for the final time, so I’m heading to you all. Hoping and praying this is an easy fix, so I can get back to quilting. It’s been a struggle using my older machine although it’s a great machine I miss my newer one. See you soon!

Came in to have my old Singer sewing machine looked at after it fell about 2 feet onto concrete. Rick was very knowledgeable and honest and told me all it really needed was a basic tune up and some new oil. He did that free of charge on the spot - took about 10 mins. I’ll definitely always bring my machine back to this store. The staff is so kind and helpful.

I had the best experience at Ann Arbor Sewing Center with my Singer Curvy machine. I brought it in today to get serviced and Rick sat right down with me and looked at my machine immediately. He was able to fix my machine ON THE SPOT and I got to bring my machine right back home with me all fixed!! It was great customer service and everyone working there was so nice. I have recently moved to Ann Arbor so it is so great to know there is such a high-quality sewing machine repair and supply shop in town. I 100% recommend to anyone who needs a sewing machine repair or for other sewing supplies!!

I called Ann Arbor sewing center to ask for help with my sewing machine. Pam and another woman tried to help me on the phone. Took my machin in. Bother women tried to help me without success. Then Rick had me fixed in minutes! Cant these wonderful enough for their help! All staff are very friendly and efficient! Thank you very much. Great place to buy a sewing machine. They are there when you need them. Even 5 years later I might add.

This is a great store.

This shop is well stocked with all kinds of gorgeous fabric and notions. They have regular class offerings that range from newbies to advanced, as well as sewing classes for kids.

They sell and service sewing machines, including my favorite Vikings. Their selection of quilt and embroidery supplies is excellent.

Came in when closing, beautiful fabric. Will have to come bk when they arent closing.

I brought in a sewing machine that did not work. I was contacted promptly that it would cost more to fix than to buy new. I have never worked on a sewing machine before but since it wasnt fixable (budget-wise), I decided to give it a try. Within a 1/2 hour and a little oil under the bobbin, the machine is running like new. I was disappointed that they wanted to sell me a new one versus truly investigating the repair (a very simple repair for a trained sewing machine repair person :(.

I cant recommend AASC enough for sewing machine repair. I have a basic Singer machine I inherited that I took for service a couple years ago (i.e., nothing fancy; Im not a quilter); they were quick and reasonably priced. I thought I was seeing the same symptoms again now--3 years later--and the staff took 15 minutes to correct a tensioning problem free of charge. They now have a customer for life.

Great customer service from Rose. Im fairly inexperienced, albeit, enthusiastic at my sewing machine. She patiently answered all of our questions and was most helpful. Ill be back again!

This quilting and material store is huge with a wide selection of materials, notions and Bernina sewing machines. The owners, Kris and Doni, are beyond lovely and helpful. We had our machine fixed perfectly, and gotten some sewing advice for a big craft project. They also helped the local high school group sew Dresses for Africa, and boy shorts, too, and they were colorful and adorable!

A well organized, huge selection of high quality quilting fabric. They also have a great turnaround time on refreshing the fabric collections. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there are always new quilts and projects hanging up to drool over. Plus their notions section is beautiful. Highly recommend!

What a fun visit to a local sewing store. They have just about everything that you need for quilting and, other than garment Fabrics or patterns, they have just about everything you need for your garment sewing room. The staff were all super helpful both in choosing Fabrics, choosing accessories, picking a great cutting board, Etc. I loved all of the selections of fabric too. Different weights, different patterns, different Fabrics themselves. I found everything that I needed very quickly and the staff were so kind. There is parking in the back make sure you follow the one way signs so that you dont accidentally run into someone.They have quilting groups and a newly-formed garment sewers group. They put out a newsletter that tells you all of the recent happenings so that you can be in the loop.

Really nice people work there. And the selection of quilting fabrics is the best in the area. Wonderful range of quality cottons and batiks, and some truly fun quilts on the walls too. We wont mention the tempting quilting books.....

A few months ago a posted an angry review for the poor service I received. Doni responded prompty, I believe you can see her response below. True to her word, she was so kind and incredibly helpful in helping me accomplish my project. I met so many wonderful people in the store who were warm, patient, took the time to listen to what I was trying to make and taught me the basic skill necessary to achieve my vision. When I completed the project, I was so excited to go back and share the final product with all who helped me. I am excited to explore the world of sewing and quilting now, and I will return to this store for guidance. It was my bad luck, to have encountered a less warm sales person on my first visit, but Im so glad for Donis vision and professionalism, and that she did not let me give up on them. I would recommend this store to ANY skill level, especially beginners looking to learn and try something new.

Wonderful staff, incredibly helpful. I got a used, entry level machine, it comes with free lesson on how to use it and the basics of sewing, as well as a year of parts and labor! I strongly recommend them for all your sewing and quilting needs!

There is no other place to go for fabric and all things needed for quilting! The store has a pleasant, knowledgeable staff, a wide variety of fabrics and notions, sewing machines with on-site repair, threads, books, and patterns.

I went here looking for something totally obscure, and they had it! Theres a huge selection of sewing and embroidery machines, parts and accessories, and fabrics and thread. I cant imagine what youd need that they dont have.

Rated great from reading others but really have a question and can’t find a place to write it. Am moving back to Howell Michigan from Tennessee at 68. Bought my first Viking on Main Street in 1971. After graduating UM. Wonder if this is same store. Now have Bernina’s and new 880 bought in February 2018 and wonder how changing stores reflects warranties ect. Kinda can’t go back to Tennessee for free classes. Grew up in Hartland.
