Very disappointed in the way they do business. I placed an order for an item and paid for next day shipping. I received an email the next day stating that I would have item delivered the following day. That day comes and no delivery... I called customer support since there was no update on UPS website. They informed me that it was shipped and I would have in 3 days. I asked for a refund for the next day air shipping and was told that it was not Sportsman Warehouse fault, it was UPS delay. It has been 5 days and still no product!! I called again and was told by customer support that it was to be delivered by the end of day. I again asked for a refund and was told NO. I recommend to buy from another company that truly cares about the customer. I will never purchase through Sportsman Warehouse again! Truly Sad Support!!

Ive purchased probably 10 firearms from Ankeny Sportsmans Warehouse over as many years. It was always my first choice because of their friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff.Unfortunately, over the years, the quality of that staff has declined significantly. On my last trip in, I was picking up a gun that I ordered online. I received no notification that it was ready for pickup (I always got a call in the past), and when I arrived, I was met with a staff of three. One was working with a customer, one was hanging out with a buddy, and the other one looked lost, and told me Id have to wait a while. While waiting, the clueless guy took some phone calls, and gave the callers some completely incorrect, and some very dubious information about shotguns.Once the sole working staff member got to me, things went pretty smoothly, until he was called away, and the clueless guy took over, just long enough to get confused, and go looking for the other guy.Eventually, I got checked out, but the whole deal took nearly an hour. Picking up an online purchase used to take 15 minutes. There was one customer other than myself (and the other guys buddy, who wasnt buying anything), so being busy wasnt the issue.SW still has good prices, and their website is good, but there was a time that I wouldnt buy from anyone but them. Sadly, thats not the case anymore. I guess Ill start driving a little further to Brownells.

I love going in here and seeing all the neat equipment and clothing. I dont however like looking at the prices! Very rarely am I impressed by the price of something here at Sportsmans Warehouse. There have been instances where I pick things off of the shelf at one listed price, go to check out and it be $5 more. Then be treated like a liar until I show them where I found the product and that its listed price was in fact the one I mentioned. The workers there can be friendly sometimes but most of the time they act as if theyre too busy to help you. Theyre ammo selection for shotguns is a joke. Scheels has all sorts of shotgun shells but you cant find one under 25 bucks at sportsmans. Their guns are overpriced along with their blinds stands wagons and clothing. I do however enjoy coming in and seeing the taxidermy and new products just like any outdoorsman.

Went to check out at 7:30 pm on a Friday night and they had 1 checkout person and 1 person overseeing customers at the 3 self check out lanes, 1 lane was broken. The lines were so long that lines went across the hallway and into the womens clothing department. Theyll find our semi full cart in the womens clothing department where we decided we were done waiting. Oh, and I ended up buying one of the items that was in our cart on Amazon while waiting in line at a cheaper rate. I can wait until Monday for my item.

Bruce at the Ankeny Sportman’s Warehouse is rude, sarcastic, and fully incapable of providing customer service.

I just bought my first firearm there last Saturday. It was my first time in the store. Austin was amazing! He patiently answered all my questions and made some recommendations. He seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. He turned an intimidating experience into a pleasant one. I will definitely be going back for anything else I need.

Prices seem to be fair, had two issues on my recent trip. Got over charged on an item that the price tag and their website listed as lower...this was easily solved by customer service and they got it fixed so all good. Then a firearm I purchased has issues and while I was reassured they would get the manufacture to send out a new part and would call me it’s been about 2 1/2 weeks and still no call. While they may still be waiting for the part to get there I feel the right thing to do would be to follow up with your customer to at least give an update. I could have called the manufacture and gotten the part faster at this point. Overall though I do like the store and the employees.

Was a long time shopper until they refused to honor their marked priced. I went to buy some kids shoes on originally priced $49.99 on clearance for $36.97 with an additional 50% off the lowest marked price and they refused to honor it because they said it was a mistake. I previously bought a smaller size for my son earlier in the spring for the same clearance price.

They have great staff. I just wish they had more inventory

First time to this location. The store was a little beat up but not to bad. It took a while to find someone to help me. Once I did he was nice and helpful. I would guess they have more help on the weekends. Lots of great things to check out. Have fun.

For me this place is awesome to visit, and purchase whatever you want. Hunting, fishing, defense equipment, and much much more. I was there, the management are very friendly people, good sales. I think its worth to spend a time to visit this place!!!!!

I initially visited to just window shop and compare prices on guns and shooting supplies. I was very impressed by not only the variety of merchandise, but also by the price and staff.They asked if I needed help with finding anything without being over bearing or judgemental. The guys at the gun counter were very approachable and friendly.Their prices on firearms and firearms accessories were extremely competitive...to the point where they matched or surpassed deals Ive found online. I didnt really look at ammo prices closely, but they did have a wide range of calibers in many flavors.I would highly recommend to check them out if you are looking for any outdoor hobby equipment!

Stopped in to grab some wood pellets for the smoker. The pellets were pretty picked over and stock was pretty low (assuming due to the 4th of July holiday weekend), but I was able to get some for our cookout. The staff is always friendly, but I didnt see any of them wearing masks. I will be stopping back regardless, but I would like to see them wearing masks for everyones safety until this COVID thing passes.

Amazing place they just need more ammo

Its a nice little store. Just dont expect a Cabellas or Bass Pro type store. You will be really disappointed. I only stop here because its next to my work. If I went home the other way, I would never stop there. They never have my boot size. And honestly, I feel I know more about boots than they do.

Being from out of town, where we dont have one of these stores, I thought this place had a pretty good selection! Lots of things you dont see in every other sporting goods store. Id stop there again next time im in town!

They have one of the best selections of out of the box items that everyone seems to need. You could literally spend several hours here without seeing everything. Probably one of the best selections of boating equipment in central Iowa. Their firearm display is a little strange due to the handguns being stacked on top of each other though.

Maybe open up a register once in a while that isnt in the customer service. I dont feel like standing there for 20 minutes to get a box of 12 gauge shells while someone is getting there license or someone needs to pick up an online order but no one responsible for that area ever answers the phone. Ive walked out on numerous occasions only to drive down the street to a big box store to complete my purchase of a singular item.

Always enjoy firearms sales staff who have firsthand experience about the merchandise. Prices are reasonable also, way better than the other big stores like Bass Pro.

Nice looking store, lots of variety. Didnt have the item I was looking for but I found other things while searching.

They claim that its federal law that the billing address on your credit card you used for an online purchase matches your drivers license. But you can just call your bank and change it.I have better things to do than to jump through Sportsmans hoops.

They carry Okuma rods, and I cant get that company to honor their warranty. I will be going to Bass Pro for everything, if Sportmans wants to continue using brands that dont back their products.

There’s a lot to choose from at Sportsman’s. It’s a little overwhelming with how much stuff they have. Seems like I spent quite a bit of time in one section of the store and just wanted to get out of there. I fish, hunt, and camp so this is my type of store just not a big fan of Sportsman’s. Really didn’t have much interaction with any employees until the cashier but he was friendly. I still prefer Scheels over most outdoor stores.

Best place to purchase outdoor recreation supplies. The people in each dept. actually like to fish, hunt, etc. Therefore they are knowledgeable in their dept. and can point customers in the right direction. Scheels and bass pro have nothing on this establishment. Not to mention everything is at least 10% cheaper... Keep up the good work guys and gals!

I cant say enough good things about Sportsman Warehouse. The prices are better than other big chains and competitive with the internet. There is a good selection in firearms, fishing, and camping equipment. I check Sportsman before the other two big outdoor stores in my area.

Had what I wanted. They were very short of help. No cash register open. Had to check out at customer service. Long lines. Footwear lady was awesome, remembered my size and dug through the incoming freight to find my size.

Thet have most things I am looking for and are happy to help.

Went there to look at handguns and I asked for a particular gun and immediately this guy behind the counter started criticizing the gun I was asking about.... just a hint guy keep your opinions to yourself..unless someone ask for it. And just because that experience, I much rather pay more somewhere else than deal with that type of customer service!

I ordered Carhartt overall pants they were the wrong size... so i returned them it was over 2 weeks ago i returned those pants still haven never gotten my return to my bank account. Also reordered pants through sportsmans warehouse to get the right size pants. ordered over a week ago still havent shipped yet... they have some bad system ordering anything online through sportsmans warehouse. Im serious anyone reading this dont i repeat dont order anything online through sportsman warehouse.

I visit this store often for camping gear and supplies. There are a couple of their staff that really know their camping gear and have helped me with bigger purchases.They after more services than the big box retailers around. They can help you with your archery equipment and have your fishing reels spooled.They bring in ice fishing gear and apparel for the winter months. They also have a nice firearms counter with accessories that range from safes to reloading supplies.Its a hard store to walk out of empty handed!

Great place with just about everything that I enjoy buying. Unfortunately I didnt care for the treatment female customers received at the gun counter. My wife is more than capable of choosing and buying her on firearms. Staff wouldnt give her the time of day till I walked up. Then they still acted like she wasnt there when she asked questions. A few employees need training in regards to this.
