The guy at the register was incredibly helpful and expedient. I didn’t know what I was looking for specifically and he went over it with me and why I may or may not want to buy it. I appreciate the time and advice he gave me, as well as when I was listening to him help the customer before me.

This local store is the perfect place to find essentials for your dog/pet! Every single place in town was sold out of winter booties, but AK bark kept their shelves fully stocked and came to the rescue! The staff are super friendly and you definitely get the feeling that you and your pet are cared for when you walk through the door. They carry a bunch of products made by other local businesses, which I appreciate greatly. The birthday area is great! They have cakes, ice cream, cookies, and biscuits to celebrate everything occasion. Our dog Beau loved everything we purchased from this establishment and we will definitely be shopping here in the near future.

AK Bark helped me get the right harness for my growing puppy. They didn’t have the color I wanted for the headrest restraint so they offered to have it ordered. Great customer service.

We have a 15 year dog. Obviously at that age he has some mobility issues, especially in the back end. We will only use the ACE brand of CBD oil, purchased at AK Bark. We started him back on this brand and within 2 days he showed significant improvement in his mobility and his energy level. We had purchased a different brand due to convenience, and it did not work as well as the ACE. The folks at AK Bark are knowledgeable, friendly, and will go out of their way to help.

It’s always great to run into Melissa when stopping by the store. Her energy is contagious and always welcoming. She knows our pups Montana and Willow very well. Covid related: They now have a queuing wait system where you scan a code with your phone, and can wait in your warm (or cold depending on the season) vehicle for your turn to shop. Thank you AKBARK!

TLDR: Dont go here until after COVIDI wish I could actually review this place cause it looks neat inside however Ive driven across town twice now only to be left standing in the cold for 20min before giving up. They have a 2 customer limit, which is actually a great idea, however they make no effort to expedite customers and two people can obliviously shut the place down for however long they like apparently.

An expertly cultivated collection of the gear Alaskan Dogs need. An avalanche of kinds and sizes of booties? Locally made snacks and gear? The expertise to know which product you need for the issue at paw? They have all that and so much more. When I couldnt shop in person because of closures, I felt secure shopping by phone because I knew that they would take the time to understand what I needed and find the solution.

This store has been one of my go to for years! During the hunker down they have been so accommodating with their curbside pick up! They always seem to have what I need from birthday cakes (only place I know that sells the mixes) to winter jackets and life vests! Hands down my favorite local dog spot!!

I always receive excellent customer service.I have a dog aggressive dog and I can’t bring her in places to try on clothing ( we were looking for snow gear) they let me buy one to try the size on her and gave me the option of swapping sizes if it didn’t fit right. I have a senior Corgi who loves to go here for her social time with the staff and treats. AK Bark helped fit my Corgi for an appropriate harness and booties that my dog could wear during our brutal winter. She stays young at heart thanks to AK Barks CBD products! I always go to AK Bark to get Birthday treats for my Corgi and she loves the pup cake! This is my go to store!

AK bark in my opinion is the best pet supply store in all of Anchorage. Mark the owner is super knowledgeable and really gets the best products in and knows his stuff. The workers there are super friendly and Melissa’s helped me countless times for dog stuff for my pup. I can sometimes very very extra when it comes to my dog just because I love her so much. But they have always been so patient with me and willing to go the extra mile to get the proper dog supplies for my pup. I really truly appreciate the great customer service and all the help that AK park is provided. Unbeatable customer service! Ive only made it into the store twice because of the distance. I do most orders by FB and have items mailed to me. Ive always talked with someone prior to them mailing items which is very helpful since its usually something that needs to be sized correctly. Theyve got a great selelction of harnesses and booties for all conditions.

Melissa at AK Bark was so helpful! We needed to get a number of items for Sir Hiccup for the Great Outdoors. Melissa helped us find just the right sizes and helped Hiccup try each one on. AK Bark has so many awesome products for all sizes of dogs. We especially like the Coyote Vest for Hiccup who only weighs about 10 pounds. The vest is designed to deter large birds from swooping down and snatching little dogs. Thank you AK Bark!

Extremely helpful, very knowledge, and willing to deal with a wiggly very playful puppy to help find the right harness. You can find a wide variety of great stuff here, alot of local options as well. We were able to find options that even suited our quirky amusements(llama printed bells and rainbow unicorns as well on a leash, they also have a matching collar). We will continue to come back as she grows, and as we find the need for different things. Our little one will now be much more comfortable, and steadily fancier.

AK Bark offers a nice assortment of dog toys and treats, collars, clothes, and leashes and some harder to find items like calming oils.I especially like to take my dogs in on their birthdays because they get a lot of personalized attention. Such a great, fun, locally owned store!

I went somewhat hesitantly into this store prepared for the high prices that high quality comes with. I wasnt sure if we were going to buy anything at all, but did want to look around. I thought it would be a bunch of overpriced cutesy stuff, but a friend recommended I stop in, so stop in I did..I was shocked at how knowledgable the staff was in all of the items. I wondered around in amazement for a few minutes, but was quickly helped. The staff went over in detail what the pros and cons were of each dog coat that I was looking at. They went as far as to take things out of packages to answer my questions. I enjoyed the conversation and felt welcome while my daughter and I looked around the store. Staff made fun, witty comments.I left with two sizes in jackets for my dogs. One fit perfectly on my small dog and the other I will be exchanging (with dog in tow to try the next one on). They said they welcomed that I bring him. We were at the store for at least half and hour and spent at least 3/4 of that time with someone actively helping me, which out pushing for a purchase. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

We stumbled upon this lovely shop by chance next to Pizza Hut on Saturday and oh my goodness are we glad that we did. The owners were fantastic as was their beautiful dog. We brought out boxer with us and were greeted enthusiastically and felt very welcome. It is important to my husband and I to buy local and support local artists and this is one of the only places I have found Alaska made dog collars. We have been holding out on purchasing our dogs permanent collar for a month now as we were considering special ordering a leather collar from a leather store in town, but when we saw the Alaska made collars we knew that we had to choose one. We purchased a BEAUTIFUL collar for our dog that is absolutely stunning. It complements his coat beautifully and it suits him so well. It was meant to be, Im certain! It is wonderful to know that this stunning hand-made collar is one of a kind and my boy is so thrilled.The owners keep plenty of Alaska made items including collars, leashes, and artwork. They also carry pet clothing, human clothing, and lovely little accessories for you or your pet. Theyre top notch! We will be returning if we ever need anything and will continue to shop locally first before entering a big box store. Their prices were very reasonable and competitive. You wont be disappointed and neither will your purr or pooch!

If you’re looking for a gift for a dog lover this is the only place you need to go! I spent over an hour browsing their items. I saw some high quality toys for big chewer dogs, way better than what you would find at a big name store. They have birthday dog party items, dog clothes, leashes of all kinds, a whole wall of different dog treats, it was a dog-lovers heaven. I purchased dog booties, the ones with the grip on the bottom for old arthritic dogs.Staff was friendly, owner as well. The staff’s dog that was schmoozing on the counter made my day!

Omg what a beautiful store full of the best goodies!!! I went in looking for a Hurtta jacket for my dog and he had a great selection of types sizes and colors! The man (owner maybe?) was very kind and patient helping us find just the right size and understood when I had to come back at a later time to purchase the jacket due to price, which for the brand was not a bad price at all. Ill be back soon and often! First experience was super positive!

I love bringing my dogs here! It’s their special treat. We always pick up a coat, collar, treats etc. plus it’s so clean compared to Petsmart/Petco. They also sell a lot of stuff from locally owned businesses!

A bit pricey, but a great shop. The Clerk is always a little socially awkward, which makes for kind of a weird conversation.. but over all an awesome little place. Itd be nice if they were consistent with their hours of operation; I cant tell you how many times ive drove clear across town only to find a Closed for the rest of the day for some kind of family emergency Sign in the window. Pretty frustrating, its a shame too because this place could be a nice little gem if ran properly.

The staff is so nice here, and answered all my questions before I tried the CBD oil on my dog. The first time I was in a couple was there with their dog, and told me how much it had helped their high-strung dog. So I tried it, and after a few days I noticed my dog becoming more calm. He finally quit freaking out over the post man! Nice selection of other items--Im going back soon for the reversible fleece dog bed thats made here in Alaska (like the CBD oil).

The owner is awesome and always willing to help. When I first got my puppy she was having a lot of stomach trouble, and I was having trouble putting weight on her. He showed me a supplement they had to help with her stomach trouble, and told me to look up something called satin balls to help put weight on her. Shes now a happy healthy dog
