A single visit is just not enough. One needs to spend time to soak in the blissful hymns being recited, as the mellifluous tones come wafting to you over the waters of the sacred sarovar. The Golden Temple by day is a different place from the lit up Golden Temple by night - and both are equally resplendent in the holy glory. With tens of thousands of pilgrims and visitors thronging everyday, the cleanliness levels are amazing and the the experience is out of the world. However many times one may visit, the place never fails to give you a sublime experience. One just needs to be receptive.

So before beginning something new, clean yourself not from the outside, but clean your inner self. Enter with a clean heart and without negative aspects. I think mainly the only reason why I felt various positive vibes over there._-The soft devotional prayer enhanced more reverence in the temple. After eating Popular ’Khada Prasad’, I felt blessed._-The spiritual environment holds you there as if you want to stay there as long as possible._-This is my incredible experience which I share with all of you....

Everything here is well managed and of course the shabads are not to be missed for anything in the world. One must visit this place if they come to the city. The infrastructure is immense, and very skilfully designed. The gold plated buildings and the marble layout is crafted to perfection. The parking is a bit far from the temple , and therefore requires a fair bit of walk to reach. Once you do, the shoes must be deposited at the counters where you will get a token number. You may collect your footwear once you wrap up.Post deposition of your footwear, you walk until the grand entrance and wash your feet, cover your head with either cloth ( some available for free at the entrance and returned afterwards) , or you can use your Personal handkerchief for the purpose.Be ready for a long walk around the pond (sarovar) and if interested plan your timing for a lunch meal (langar). The meal is served to a thousand devotees, so expect a bit of commotion in the hall. But do be patient since such places are meant to be visited with peace and ample time in hand. The holy book is situated in the Center chamber that has only 1 access and 1 exit path. At an average, you can expect 2 hours to wrap up your visit inside the chambers, since the queue is pretty huge.Overall a great place to visit at any time of the year. However plan accordingly since festivals can cause massive gatherings:)

Founded in 1577 by Ram Das, Amritsar is an important hub of Sikh history and culture. The main attraction here is Harmandir Sahib, opened in 1604 and still often referred to as the Golden Temple for its beautiful gold decoration. The holiest of Indias many Sikh shrines (it also attracts many Hindus and people of other faiths), the temple was built in a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles, its lower marble section featuring such flourishes as ornate inlaid floral and animal motifs, while the large golden dome represents a lotus flower, a symbol of purity to Sikhs. In addition to its splendid design, visitors are equally impressed with the temples spiritual atmosphere, an effect enhanced by the prayers continuously chanted from the Sikh holy book and broadcast throughout the complex. Part of the overall experience-and visitors are welcome to participate-is the chance to enjoy one of the 50,000 free meals the attraction serves up to visitors each and every day.

According to the Sikh historical records, the land that became Amritsar and houses the Harimandar Sahib was chosen by Guru Amar Das – the third Guru of the Sikh tradition. It was then called Guru Da Chakk, after he had asked his disciple Ram Das to find land to start a new town with a man-made pool as its central point. After Ram Das succeeded Guru Amar Das in 1574, and given the hostile opposition he faced from the sons of Guru Amar Das, Guru Ram Das founded the town that came to be known as Ramdaspur. He started by completing the pool with the help of Baba Buddha (not to be confused with the Buddha of Buddhism). Guru Ram Das built his new official centre and home next to it. He invited merchants and artisans from other parts of India to settle into the new town with him.Ramdaspur town expanded during the time of Guru Arjan financed by donations and constructed by voluntary work. The town grew to become the city of Amritsar, and the area grew into the temple complex). The construction activity between 1574 and 1604 is described in Mahima Prakash Vartak, a semi-historical Sikh hagiography text likely composed in 1741, and the earliest known document dealing with the lives of all the ten Gurus.Guru Arjan installed the scripture of Sikhism inside the new gurdwara in 1604.Continuing the efforts of Guru Ram Das, Guru Arjan established Amritsar as a primary Sikh pilgrimage destination. He wrote a voluminous amount of Sikh scripture including the popular Sukhmani Sahib.

This has led to the name the Golden Temple.

Golden Temple also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib is a holy shrine with hundreds of year of faith and believes. It was built in 1604 by Arjan. The history behind the temple is great apart that the service for serving food which is known as Langar to thousands of people everyday is awesome. Food is tasty and hygienic but no social distancing is there as people believe there is no evil like Corona in this holy place of blessings. Believes of water bath as water is blessing of God called Amrit has great divine grace on devotees. The fishes in water and the temple in between of water, plated with gold is a beauty with peace. Both night view and morning view is best and beautiful. Must visit this Temple to see the beauty of our Indian Traditional Temple and culture.
