Overflow is a great thrift store. It is well organized and the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. The prices vary, they can be either incredibly amazing or a bit pricey depending on what you find. Its worth checking out!
Overflow has the best prices around and friendly workers. I tell people about it all the time.
A great place to hunt for fun treasures. Sooo... much stuff.
It is interesting reading these reviews. I, for one, am not impressed. I have donated things in the past with no problem. Last week I went to the new location under the impression that the Duff location had closed due to the new, bigger one opening. My bad. So I wait until a day - onlyWednesday and Saturday - they accept items. Nope. There is a little box outside the building. When it is full, it is closed and nothing accepted. What a waste of my time. I read in one of the reviews that the merchandise does not move very fast. Maybe Overflow does not really want items. How sad.
Love this store know that there is more room ! Sine they opened up the other Overflow store where they moved the furniture and house hold stuff! The staff at both stores are very helpful and very nice!
Lots of good stuff to buy for cheap. Just got to to limit myself! Lol
Great place to donate used items and find used items at a low price.
They closed 6 minutes early when we needed one thing. We and gave us incorrect directions to the location of the other store causing them to close by the time we got there!
Come here to give second life to clothes, appliances, furniture, and more! Half of the stuff in our house is from Overflow and we love it. Plus, where else can you shop to help kids around the world? Overflow donates a portion of every sale to supporting children in Africa!
Always find some good buys at great prices. Friendly volunteers. Highly recommend!!!
Reasonably priced!
I love this place. It’s organized fairly well, the prices are cheap, the staff are friendly, and their mission is something I can stand behind. They have $1 for (pretty much all) clothing every first weekend of the month, which is awesome. Only thrift store I go to in Ames
Stopped by for the first time today with a target item in mind. I did not find what I was searching for; but, I was certainly impressed with the store. I let one of your staff members know right away how organized it appeared to me. Nicely departmentalized, reasonably priced, and pretty dog gone pleasant without the funky fragrance other thrift stores tend to present. Thank you.
The non-thrift store thrift store. Clean, creatively displays, cute dressing rooms, a bench to sit on while you try on shoes, and even decorations in the clean bathrooms! Overflow is a great shopping experience, plus all the fun finds and friendly volunteers. Ive found great clothes, shoes, housewares, even a snowboard, dining room table, rocking chair, board games, antiques--you name it! Love this store!
Good prices, clean items
Clean and organized. Nice shop
Great prices, friendly staff, and very clean. Definitely my favorite thrift store in Ames.
Overflow my favorite thrift store
Nice quality items a great prices. My favorite thrift store! Closed Sunday and Monday.
Great deals great products even if they are second hand the prices are awesome they are actually cheaper then Salvation Army or Goodwill a lot of the time
I love this store
Best non-profit thrift store in the area! Clean Cute & Creative! Funds & goods go to great organizations both locally and abroad. Good people. Good prices.
Best thrift store in Ames - and probably Story County. Its clean, its well organized, the staff and volunteers are friendly, and all profits go to charitable organizations. It even SMELLS better than other thrift stores. :) Cant say enough good things about Overflow!
A great place to shop and donate usable stuff from your overflowing abundance to help others. Bonus of great new friends if you become a volunteer there!
The only real downside to overflow is that their inventory doesnt move terribly fast. However, unlike other thrift stores in Ames the prices here are much lower and the overall quality is much higher! So if you want to pay $90 a busted up dresser that reeks of cigarettes, youll have to find it somewhere else (Im looking at you, Salvation Army). Also, their first of the month sales are the best. I go every month now.
There are some really amazing finds here, and they change their display based on the seasons. All of the proceeds go to charities such as women shelters, orphans in Haiti, and halfway houses. The idea is to donate our overflow to help those around the world who arent as fortunate. They have everything from books, to clothes, to baskets, cards, and furniture
I love this store. I can find treasures I never see at other thrift stores and the prices are more reasonable as well. Very nice volunteer employees and the proceeds are going to a great cause.
The staff is so friendly. The store is very organized and well kept.
We come check it out every time were in Ames, always happy with the selection and prices! Plus, cant beat the benefits all going to a great cause. Win-win!
Enjoyed my experience there. A lot of clothes and other things for really cheap. They could be open a little more though.
Great store, nice staff. Lots of stuff to look at
It was a great place, organized and set up well with lots of items reasonably priced.
They have really reasonable prices and everything is always clean and organized.
Organized. Decent library of books and fairly priced furniture.
What I needed at a great price
Unique selection, you never know what will be there on a given day. Good prices.
Genuine thrift store that doesnt seem to have a nationwide chain or CEO s and what not. Highly affordable, even more so than goodwill or salvation army.
Love this place when the first of the month sale is going on I found it in entire up-to-date outfit for $2
Good selection of items. Friendly staff! Reasonable prices.
Nice folks, great prices. Bathrooms open to the public. Good stuff.
Nice clean store. A bit on the churchy-side. The selection doesnt seem to change as rapidly as other places, but it is very nice place.
Great selection! Very friendly!
Dont always have a lot of neat stuff in stock but when they do its usually really affordable. A few things are a little overpriced. Sucks that they are only open a few days a week.
Great deals. Great cause. Different stuff all the time.
Wonderful place, always neat and tidy. Store is well organized, and staff are friendly.
Some cool things - not much vintage. Funding local Christian organizations.
They have quite a few nice things and very reasonable prices!
This is a great place to find 2nd hand items
So much nicer inside than I expected.
Hours of operation are very weird and parking is mediocre. The store itself is nice and has decent selection.

Organized. Nice book room. Friendly workers.
Furniture is over priced, aisles are to close together making it hard to walk though
