Alexandria Yellow Cab has gone down hill in service since they are under new management.I was a long time loyal customer (15+ years) of Alexandria Yellow Cab. Now, the Alexandria Yellow Cab services and current management are very unreliable. Twice they failed to show up on time. Twice I had to call another cab service to frantically get to National Airport on time for my flight.

I call for a cab to pick me up so I can get to the hospital it took more than 1 hour for them to get me a ride and once they did they assigned cab 245 and didnt show up I call him to ask him where he was at he said Ill be there in about 15 to 20 minutes so I decided to wait for it he never arrived company sent me a thanks messages so I text them back the driver did not arrive company called me to apologise the lady said that the driver was probably taking a nap or maybe he took someone else so they offered me another cab I said okay Ill wait I ask the lady how long its going to be she said about another 20 minutes were actually waiting for our morning shift we got no drivers at this time. Im so sorry

Twice inside of three weeks I scheduled rides to work for around 5am, the night before using the schedule feature on the website or phone service. Both times the company A) did not contact me to let me know within an hour of the scheduled & confirmed time, that they didnt have anyone available or would be late, B) they did not arrive within 15 minutes & I had to find alternate transport and was subsequently late, and C) they did not offer any discounts, reparations, future discounts etc. to apologize & make up for the lack of service as agreed to through their confirmed service bookings.

In the past I’ve always had great service with Alexandria Yellow Cab. Lately though it has been slipping. I used the Riide app to schedule a ride last weekend to go to a doctors office. I was assigned a cab about 15 minutes later. Two minutes before he was supposed to arrive (according to the app) the driver called me and asked me where I was going. When I told him he said ok, hung up, then immediately canceled. I had to wait 30 minutes for the app to find me another cab. Not cool. I have never had this happen before and don’t know what’s going on. Also in the past, I would be assigned a cab at least five minutes after pressing “book” on the Riide app. Now it takes almost 15 to 20 minutes. I’m going to start researching alternative transportation like Lyft, Uber or Go Green cab. It seems when Yellow Cab bought all the other cab companies out the service has dropped.

I lost my wallet in one of their cars and all I wanted is to speak to the driver who picked me up and offer him a prize if he found it and return it, but the company was completely unable to connect me to the driver or even know who the driver was, although I called for the cab and was picked up and dropped from/to clear addresses, so it was an easy thing to do. I called several times and multiple people told me different answers. If they can’t protect my belongings in case of such accidents, I can’t trust them with a ride.

The cab driver that drove us from Reagan airport Tuesday night to our hotel was obviously off the clock when he drove us. When we arrived at the hotel he told us that the the cabs credit card system was down and had to pay cash. The trip back to the airport was half the cost from another cab company with functioning card reader. Id give 0 stars if I could.

I use AYC on average twice a month for rides to DCA. Drivers have *always* been early or on-time. Some are talkative and some are not, which is okay in my book b/c the most important thing is getting to the airport on-time. I’ve never experienced issues with fares/drivers/vehicles. Most of the time I can get an e-receipt and others print one out for me. Most vehicles have self-serve pay tablets on the seat-backs.

Excellent service: convenient online reservation system, sent text confirmation, sent live location of driver when in route, taxi was very clean, driver was on time, well-groomed and courteous. He got me to my destination using the fastest route. Very affordable rate. I definitely recommend.

Truthfully I wish I could give them a zero for customer service. I reserved a taxi 12 hours in advance for 0430 pickup which they never showed. I called and got an automated answer service recognizing my number from the reservation, they told me my address, and said they are searching for a driver, and gave me an estimated wait time of 15 minutes. Ultimately I cancelled the taxi, drove to the airport, but missed my flight. Unbelievable.

I don’t understand how people have such bad experiences. I always take AYC for my early morning flights to Reagan National. I take them because I want dependability and I don’t trust Uber for 5:30 am boarding flights. I don’t expect the driver to be talkative and grinning at that time of the morning. Just good morning and thank you is all I expect and to put my bag in and out the car. I always tip 30-40% too because I appreciate anyone who is working at 4:30 am. One thing I want AYC to improve on is fixing the IOS App for scheduling rides. Do not put your credit card info. In the Riide App. They charged me for ride even though I paid the driver in cash and no one in customer service has called me back on my refund. Poor administration of this app. I will have to go to AMEX and reverse the charge.

Have reserved a cab with them before and all has gone well. This time had to get somewhere fast. They left me waiting for half an hour, and when I called to see what was up they said people were still bidding on my fare. Magically, after I called a cab was instantly on its way, but a cab from a different company had just dropped someone off. Took that instead.

Great experience with a prompt and professional dispatcher and driver in the 4 AM hour of a holiday. My original taxi reservation (with another local company) failed to arrive as scheduled and AYC had a car to me in less than 10 minutes after my call. Made my train and no disruption in travel plans!

Cab driver was horrible. He picked me up from the store. Handled two bags. And charged me 8$ extra. Claiming he was entitled to do so given he put two bags in his trunk. Alexandria yellow cab is the worst. I will never use them again. Plus all there drivers look like they have mental issues on top of other things.

Ive used this service for 10 years without any issue. As I live less than two miles from a metro station with a long line of waiting cabs, it would take 5 to 10 minutes for a cab to arrive at my home. This morning, I placed an order for a cab, and the tracking link said that my cab would arrive in 15 minutes. Oddly, instead of dispatching a cab from the metro station five minutes away (a mile and a half), they dispatched a cab from a location about 10 miles away. And it didnt take 15 minutes like the app said. It took 30 minutes. I nearly missed my flight as a result.

I had two experiences with this company; one great and one not so great.First one the driver called me to confirm the time, arrived a few minutes early, got us to our destination safely, and the price was very close to the quote.Second one they were over a half hour late to pick up, we got in a cab of the same company thinking it was ours, got a phone call from the other driver that was finally there to pick up, then got mad and hung up on ME because I didnt call to cancel for him. Dont show up an hour late then!!

I booked the night before for a ride to the airport at 5:00 am and they sent me a text message to confirm. At 5am that morning I called and the dispatcher said that they didnt have anyone in my area. When I explained that I had a booking, he acknowledged that they had my booking just didnt have anyone available. I ended up having to drive to the airport myself and park ($$$) with four kids in tow, almost missing my flight. Completely unreliable service and I will never use them again.

Absolutely the worst! Back story: its Sunday, I was at the mall but outside the mall is a michaels so I wanted to go check out that store right before work. I called a cab at 12:30 just in case it took a little too long. They said okay 15 minutes. I call back after 20 minutes, theres no cab. Okay 20 minutes, sorry. I call back again after 20 minutes. Okay theres a mix up but Ill get you a cab, sorry. 15 more minutes pass by and still no one. Now its 1:33pm and Im probably going to be late to work. GREAT STUFF HUH!

3 calls over an hours time. Dispatch says they missed the pickup and wanted me to wait an additional 30 min. No thanks. Ill just stay put. Recommend you call another company if you really need to get some place. But if you enjoy sitting around waiting on others then this is your cab co.

I reserved a cab for an 8pm pick up which arrived promptly, I also reserved a return ride for a 935pm pick up which never showed. After multiple calls and tracking cab drivers going the wrong way on the GPS app we were fortunately able to wave down a cab on the street after an hour. It was raining and my wife is 6 months pregnant, terrible customer service.

Dont know how it could be any better. I dont use Uber, etc and I always use ALX Yellow Cab. Reservations are super EZ, get confirmation by text, drivers always show on time and are polite and professional. Never had a problem. Cars are clean and comfortable and payment by card is EZ. So glad there are still taxis!

I always call for early morning flights about 15 minutes before I need to leave. They are always early, polite, help with bags, have clean vehicles. Also, the system knows my number so I just press one button to get a taxi to my home. Licensed and regulated so you feel safe, not like Uber that pays is drivers less than minimum wage.

I feel like this service will slowly be replaced with uber which I think is sad for the drivers because I know they work hard. The female dispatchers are so rude Id rather take the metro any day. I dont feel like being treated like dirt over the phone while I try to set up a ride. The drivers are good people I feel bad for them when I get rides I can tell they get treated badly by their employers as well.

I should have checked the ratings. I set a reservation for a flight the day before. I give them 5 minutes over the time for the reservation and I call their dispatch and find out the car is 17 minutes away. The dispatch was very unhelpful and basically told me I shouldnt expect reservations to be met on time these days. Havent had this trouble with any other NOVA cab companies and I frequently travel for work, you should really avoid this company if youre trying to make a flight.

Alexandria Yellow Cab has the worst customer service. My office held an account with them which meant premium service. Regardless of such, I have had to wait in the rain for more the 30 minutes. When calling and asking for CAB in instances, they refuse to send one out claiming they didnt recall me saying an account number. They intentionally and forthrightly are rude and will hang up the phone in your face. I have asked to speak to a manager and they have refused. Additionally, I have have had several cabs run the tab a lot longer than they should. Cabs that will go past my office, do a U-turn and run the meter up. They then will take the voucher (paid for by the office), and request additional funds. The tab typically is between 4.50 and 5.50. The voucher pay 6.50, and with CABS that intentionally try to run the tab up is about 10 dollars. The business is ran horribly, and I would suggest no one to use it. You will be waiting and they will out right refuse you service. I would use alternative taxi services such as King Cab O or White Top Cab Company.

Horrible, out of date, and out of touch. Use Lyft or Uber. When they bother to show up, the service is fine. But after stranding passengers three times and deciding to completely offshore all of their customer service, they’ll no longer get our business.The first time they didn’t bother to show up, they left my octogenarian father-in-law stranded and he almost missed his train. The second time, they left my wife stranded and she almost missed her overseas flight. The third, they left me, my wife, and our two children scrambling to get to the airport for a 5:30 AM flight when I had reserved online AND then followed up with a call to confirm. They simply didn’t show up, even though we saw four Alexandria Yellow Cabs on the way to the airport, and then sent me a notification thanking me for my cancellation. And note that when you call customer service, you cannot reach anyone at dispatch in Alexandria. You are instead routed to an overseas call center where they have no idea how long it will be until a driver is dispatched. There’s no accountability, no customer service, and no interest in retaining your business.

When I contacted this company, I asked if they operated 24/7 and they said yes. I made a round trip booking hours early and didnt have any issues when I got picked up other than the drivers personal hygiene was very less than desirable. On my return trip, I had received a text informing me that my cab was enroute to pick me up so I proceeded outside and waited. It was freezing cold on Valentines Day and I waited for a while and the taxi never arrived. When I called the dispatcher and kindly asked where my taxi was at, I was informed that they were no longer operating in the area. Then I asked, why didnt they have the professional courtesy to inform me and contact another company to do the pickup? The response was, we dont do that!! I informed them that I was a disabled veteran, it was freezing cold outside, and the reply was, So what! Keep in mind that these drivers that work for yellow cab are foreigners on our soil able to work because of the sacrifices our military forces have made throughout our history. Dont use this company!!!

Terrible experience---called for pickup at Huntington Metro station in cold weather and given assigned cab-- 1st cab didnt show. Called 2nd time and rescheduled and 2nd cab hadnt shown. Called third time and was informed by the same male who made initial arrangements that this company doesnt pick up at metro whatsoever. When I informed him of the confirmation texts he had nothing to say about that and the phone dropped.In sum, terrible service. Make sure you get other travel arrangements!

If you have somewhere important to be, or dont want to get killed because youre stranded AT NIGHT for hours on end, outside alone, only to be yelled at and treat like youre not important for calling to inquire about the cab, get this, after an hour and a half! Icing on the cake, youre paying them for this kind of service. I had used this cab company since I was in my teens , and I have watched it become a disaster! The drivers RUDELY DO WHAT THEY WANT! SOME DRIVERS OF ALEXANDRIA YELLOW CAB ARE THIEVES, SWINDLERS, ROBBERS. My husband and I (seniors) were assaulted by the taxi driver H131836. This driver picked us on Van Dorn Station at 21:30 the day before yesterday (October 23/2016), when we arrived at our destination Hotel Days Inn Alexandria the taximeter marked us 12.75, lowering the car my husband leaned over the handle door and this was partly detached. We had to pay the driver us 100 for that item that was previously broken. Others who watched what happened they said it was a trick used to collect large sums of money, one and again, of passengers victims. Since the hotel was called Alexandria Yellow Cab to put the complaint, but nobody solved nothing and we had to take a plane back to our country very early the next day, without money. H131836 taxi driver, you will reap the fruit of your tricks, lies and steals. God will charge you!!!. Theyre the worst. Our suggestion, SAVE YOURSELF, AVOID BE ASSAULTED, CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY!!

The Alexandria yellow cab service is the worst service I have ever had. I had a driver that was racist, disrespectful, and detestable. DO NOT GO ON THE TAXI CAB #26. He is a white old man that curses at other people in the road while there are children in the taxi. He shouldnt be on the road. I use this company for my work and their have been a few attitude problems from the cabbies, they are an unpleasant lot with a very few exceptions. The dispatchers are mostly ok, except for this black girl w/a deep southern drawl, it is hard to understand her and she will snap her hair trigger temper at you if you dont understand her. lately shed been better but I doubt it will last for long in my exp.

I waited 30 mins at the Braddock road metro station before calling again. They had NO record of my call so I placed a new order.The cab arrived and greeted me rudely as always I gave him my name, he acknowledged the cab was for me and proceeded to ask for the address I was going to. I gave him the address and he refused to take me and told me the cab was not for me . Gave me horrible attitude forced me to get put of the cab and I ended up walking home at 11pm. At around 2:00 PM on December 6th, I requested a cab from the Rite Aid in the Fox Chase shopping center to Riverside Apartments in Alexandria. The cab (Cab 98) arrived rather quickly but the driver was agitated when I got in because he was under the impression that I was going to Riverside Apartments, a few miles away, instead of Fox Chase Apartments a few blocks away. He sat in the parking lot for a few minutes with the meter running trying to figure out how to get there and asked me to use my phone as a GPS. I told him that the best way to go was 95 to the Rt 1 South exit but he refused and wanted to go another way instead. He then pulled over on Huntington Ave and told me to walk from there because he didn’t want to wait at the light to drive me to the apartment building. It was .4 of a mile away, I had two bags of groceries and I had to cross a busy 4-lane road in an area with no crosswalks. Normally, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal but I had just been released from the hospital an hour earlier because I had thrown out my back and was still having back spasms. If your driver didn’t want to take me to where I requested, he should have told me when I got in the cab. Instead, he was just rude and unprofessional. This will be the last time I ever use this cab service. In the future, I’ll be using Uber or another cab company.

It is pathetic how horrible the taxi service is. They pretty much leave out the part where when you place an order for a taxi that you have a fifty/fifty chance of them actually coming to get you. Its ridiculous. On many occasions theyve cancelled my order without my knowledge, just for me to find out when I call over an hour later trying find my cab. I honestly dont understand why this is that difficult. At first they were amazing always on time, but now you would truly be lucky if they even come within the hour. This company needs new management or something, because this is truly unacceptable. Also, poor - fair is much nicer of a rating than they should receive.

Cab smells like an ashtray, much more expensive than an uber, he didnt put his gps. Meeter started at $3 and my no traffic ride was $12 for about 2.5 miles. No imagination and not trying to look for the fastest route. Never take a cab again..., uber all the way.

No wonder people are switching to Uber at record rates. We took a cab from DCA 9.7 miles and it cost $35.65 without tip. The fare itself was $26.40, but he added $9.25 in extras. The driver said it was the airport fee, which I felt was kind of high. I found online that the airport fee is $2.50, each additional passenger is $1.00 (+$3.00 since there were 4 of us), and he can charge us $0.50 for each item of luggage put in the trunk ($2.00 for 4 pieces of luggage). So I understand if the surcharge was $7.50, but he charged $9.25. While the drivers dishonesty really bothers me since he is basically stealing from his customers, I guess now I have an option to switch to Uber. Bye, Bye cab companies. Your dishonest drivers and lack of customer service when calling the dispatch is pushing your customers away.

Im a consierge at an assited living facility. One of my residents called a cab the night before for him and his wife to attend church in the morning for 9:15. Hes in a wheelchair so they requested a wheelchair accessible van. 9:15 comes and goes and there nowhere to be found. 30 mins went by so i called and they told me there was none availble and it will be awhile . They shouldve called early and let us know that so we could have made another plan for a ride. Its like its no point of booking. They are also very rude like I really tried my best not to curse them out

Arrived 25 minutes late. It was pointless to make an online reservation 2 days prior. I made my reservation for 4:10am and at 4:05am, I received a text saying that the taxi was not yet on its way and that I should call to check the status. The phone process was also a joke. It said that I was next in line and after 5 minutes, it said that they were busy and that I should try back later. I tried calling back and was put on hold for another 2 minutes after the automated service said that there were zero callers ahead of me. When I finally spoke to the dispatcher, he asked for all of my information (as if to be starting a completely new dispatch) and said that the driver was on his way and before he hung up, I asked him how long it would take and his reply was 4-5 minutes. We decided to drive ourselves and preceded to get in the car and drive off when I got an automated call saying that our taxi was outside of our door. When the cab finally arrived, the driver had poor customer service and didnt even greet us or apologize for arriving 25 minutes late nor did he help with our bags.
