I love this place. It has great Afghan and Arabic foods that you cant find elsewhere. They bake their own breads, make sweets, and have a Halal butcher shop with quality meals that are reasonable (not the cheapest but you pay for freshness and quality). I usually go here at least once a month.

Most of their meat is from Restaurant Depot, New Zealand / Australia, 6 month old. Specially the ones are already packed. Also watch your transection, sometimes you being charge twice or more, it happened to my family twice.

My family and I have been customers of Afghan Market for years. This is the place to go for your Afghan/Asian/Middle Eastern grocery needs. The prices are beyond reasonable compared to other international grocery stores. Rafi and his staff are always accommodating and friendly. They go out of their way to help customers with a touch of Afghan hospitality and generosity.Give this little place a try and you wont be disappointed.

The guy who is the owner and is normally posted at the register is charging customers for items not purchased. I heard about this from others but did not believe until I experienced it myself. I purchased a couple of kitchen staff and checked out, started driving back home. In the middle of my way which is about 13 miles I noticed I was charged for items I did not purchase. I did a U turn and came to the store to talk with the person and ask for my refund but they were defensive and rude. Finally, I returned everything I bought that day although I needed them and it was evening time that other store were about to close and promised that I will not come back. They replied that they will not be affected by not having one customer.

The cashier there is very rude! I asked if the bread was made today, because I know some stores keep the bread for a few days so I had to make sure it’s fresh but when I asked he was so rude and had a mad tone and yelled no they’re from last year, and hung up the phone. Also whenever I go to the store he always has an attitude. He looks like he is on drugs too. Never coming back here!

I was walking with my friend, and we saw Tunisian dates that I told her you can find them cheaper in the store across the street (LA Mart). One of the workers heard me saying that. He interrupted us impolitely, with a mocking tone saying: This was in 2016. It is now 2020 with temper visible on his face. When I told him that I have the right to say what I want to say, he answered: Yes, but not in front of me. Extremely impolite. I left very disappointed, and decided not to visit this store again.

I HATE seeing bad reviews for this place.I don’t think I have ever written a google review but I need to for this place.Customer service is amazing.The environment is modern.Food and variety is great.And the most important thing to me: I am VERY particular with the meat I buy and eat. But this place is my go to place for meat, despite how far I live from it.

The closest place for us to find some great halal food, I wouldn’t say it’s the best but it’s still better than nothing, but they do need to lower their prices a bit, I feel they charge a bit extra for things that could be found cheaper else where.

The Bakery is a hidden Gem, All types of amazing middle eastern and Afghan delights. The store has a great selection. The staff and owner are very helpful and take quality very seriously.

I like the fact that I can find some snacks and food that remind of home, but be aware that the test is very different than the actual look. Besides other items, I got khajoor and I was so disappointed. It did not test even close to actual Afghan Khajoor.I liked the giant Bolani. It really worth it the price. The nuts are good as well and they have homemade Turshi, too which is delicious.The price for the items are high. I am not sure where the products are being imported from, but wouldnt complain much about it.The location is convenient if for those in Alexandria or the neighborhoods and if you have a car.

This grocery store is very nice; it is big, clean, authentic and has an amazing therapeutic atmosphere. It has original products from the East, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and the Levante. Prices here are reasonable and the staff are friendly and great, the butcher shop is clean, accommodating and has many options. The bakery in the back is amazing and gives the place an added value and speciality. I love this store, my wife and I go there for fun and shopping. Good job guys. God bless.

I bought this teapot a week ago, after using it a couple of times its bottom part started to fall apart. However, I tried to fix it but it is leaking and can’t be fixed.

You can find Middle Eastern and Afghan spices, sweets, and mixed nut snacks. There is a mini restaurant with Afghan cuisine. They make about 16 thin round bread which goes well with several Middle Eastern cuisine. You can also find nan and other types of oriental bread. Their meat is expensive yet it is halal. Their meat section prepares marinated tandoori chicken / chicken pieces. They also sell ground lamb, beef and chicken.All in all, their products are good and to some degree clearly priced rather than many other Afghan and Middle Eastern stores in the area.One important point, those who speak English and work there, are very polite and ready to help when asked about certain products.

Employees including owner himself are rude & very disrespectful. iHave become very fund of this place at one point but as iContinued to come.... iRealized couple things that had made me stop coming. For starters, cashier would spend over 15 min to talk to his friends as I am waiting to purchase my items. Next, owner laughs as I am covering pin pad to enter my pin while purchasing & lastly iBrought a product that was very dry & owner was rude. Great place, but the owners are SUPER cheap. If they see you buy something regularly, that item will triple in price over a few months, as well as lose its quality/size. Horrible about that. But people keep coming back because their food is actually good, along with their snacks.

A convenient store you can find all you need

One of the richest South Asian and Central Asian stores I have so far been to in the area with unique variety of spices, breads, Nans, with a Persian kitchen inside the store. Also, most of the dry fruits they carry are authentic imports from Afghanistan and elsewhere in the region. I highly recommend this store if you want pick up ingredients for any type of Asian recipes.

Pls guys dont buy food at Afghan market store at Edsall Road Alexandria Va. Theyre selling expire foods. I bought a lot of Foods including Zwan luncheon meat for my deployment. I gave my friend some Food including the Zwan luncheon meat. She opened the Can, she saw a lot of stuffed like bacteria ( it seems like poison). When I opened the Zwan luncheon meat, I saw the same thing. On the back of the Zwan luncheon meat expiration date is 2020. I called them and also sent the videos to them to prove that Im not laying. If anyone need the videos, pls contact me and Ill send the videos.
