The absolute nicest and most helpful guys Ive ever come across. Often times bike shops get a bad reputation of being stuck up or a bit rude, but these guys couldnt be further on the opposite side of that stereotype. I pass at least five other shops to get to Wheel Nuts, and Ill absolutely continue using this shop over others. Thank you guys!

I came in this morning to buy tubes and get an alignment for my track bike. As a collegiate and domestic elite racer, I have access to exceptional mechanic. Luke and Ethan are no different, and are both personable and knowledgeable about riding. After leaving this morning, I had a but come loose and was able to return immediately. They dropped everything they were doing and helped me promptly. It’s my understanding that employees mentioned by name receive a bonus, in my opinion, they deserve at least double for their excellent, free help today. Conveniently located off of the well traveled MV Trail, I will be coming back here more frequently.

After buying a bike at a big box store and realising that the toe strap pedals were causing an issue, I popped into Wheel Nuts after suffering my way along the Mt Vernon trail. It was late in the evening and Ray already had a couple of repairs ahead of him. I explained my situation and enquired about clip-ins and proper shoes. After some helpful advice, Ray fitted the pedals there and then which definitely made the ride home easier.I have popped back in on a number of occasions and no matter who is working, they are always knowledgeable & helpful. Items are very reasonably priced in store and there always seems to be plenty, if not they will order it in. Rentals are also available. If there were more stars, I would give them all! These guys are fantastic and provide a personal touch to their service. If youre passing by on the trail drop in, I cant recommend these guys enough!

Limped in one afternoon with a banged up rear wheel on my decade-old Trek 520. Wheel Nuts had one in stock and swapped it out while I waited.Same for a rear rack on my quarter-centry-old Aquila Pave (Okay, *that* was winter; not an overly busy time.)Heres the thing -- the owners and employees all live & breathe this stuff. I am very happy with my experience both purchasing a new bike and servicing it at Wheel Nuts. Their entire staff is knowledgable, prompt and has continually gone above and beyond to ensure satisfaction.Their owner, Ron, in particular has been amazing to work with. His sales process was very informative and low pressure. After asking a million questions and still needing a week to sleep on it, Rons response was to take my time and know that gimmicky sales tactics were not the reason theyve been in business for 20+ years. When my new bike started to experience small issues faster than expected (~2 months) Ron stepped in again, taking a number of steps to diagnose the problems and waiving labor/upgrading components at no cost.Simply put, I can not recommend them highly enough. Whether purchasing a new bike, servicing/repairing an existing bike or looking for gear youd be crazy not to go to Wheel Nuts.

TL;DR: Great shop with friendly and knowledgeable staff without cumbersome bureaucracy. They sell, rent, and importantly - fix bikes.I showed up near the end of the day on a fluke to see if they could figure out why my bike was making a strange noise. Sure enough, they politely examined the bike and talked through their process, which as a curious consumer, I valued (it also made clear to me what I was paying for).100% would recommend for anyone near Alexandria needing to give their bike a tune-up. Also, they sell Jamis bikes, which is pretty rad.

I love this bike shop. Every time I go in, theyre helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Last weekend, I went in for bike lights for my kids bikes and ended up grilling Ray about how to size my son for a new bike. He fitted him for a bike with no pressure to buy. Ron, the owner, is very knowledgeable and he always remembers my name, even after the second and third visit, and I am not a very outgoing person :) It just shows that he takes an interest in his customers and truly wants them to be happy! Superb, rapid, and friendly service. I ran into an unexpected issue while travelling through the area and there were two bike shops in the vicinity. The first tried to help but seemed a bit indifferent if they resolved my problem. Yesterday was my first day to commute to work - a 12 mile trek from Arlington to National Harbor. On my ride home, I had a tire blowout on the Wilson Bridge at 8:15pm. (I had waited to leave until it was a tad cooler.) I change my tire. But failed. In Old Town it’s flat again. But I remember Wheel Nuts was on the trail! Hoping they are still open – but knowing they probably aren’t, I cruise up at 8:45 pm… They close at 7:00 pm but the door is cracked and there’s a party inside… I was warmly greeted by a triathalon club having their happy hour and the store owner, Ron, was so helpful. I was offered a beer and food while I waited. It turns out my tire beading had shredded. Ron fixed my tire while hosting a party. I am now all set with a commuter tire. I am very very grateful for the hospitality of Wheel Nuts and the happy hour crew for letting me crash a private after hours event to get my bike ready to roll!! Smooth ride back home to Arlington last night albeit much later that I set out for! Thanks Wheel Nuts!!

Stopped in for a wheel repair because I had a few extra minutes in my schedule and I was nearby. Figured I would leave the wheel and come back later after an appointment. Within 15 minutes (before I was done talking about products) they had replaced the spoke, trued the rim twice, reassembled the wheel/cassette/tire, and wrapped it up. All that and it was about 30-40% less than the big shop near me had quoted. Great price, great service, and free advice that told me not to buy something I had my eyes on. How can you beat that?

Wheel Nuts is the absolute best! I wish they were a litte closer but thats ok. They have some of friendliest employees and the owner is a great guy who knows that a good business is about caring.I rented a road bike from them recently and they offered me a great rate as well as swapped my pedals out for no charge. Then I forgot the helmet when I dropped the bike off and they didnt charge for another day, they just told me to bring it back the next day. I know that sounds simple but it was a big gesture.I just got a new road bike and I didnt purchase it from them but only because the deal I got on it was insane and there was NO way they could match it. But I wanted to know my size. No other shop in the area would fit me for a bike unless I bought one and they wouldnt even talk to me on the phone about sizing unless I was going to buy from them.I called up Wheel Nuts and talked to one of their head guys (forgot his name but weve talked before) and he gave me some great pointers. I told him my height, my style, the bike I was looking at, etc. and he knew exactly the right info to give me. He also knew he wasnt going to get a sale from that BUT he knew that the help he was giving me was more valuable than a bike sale.Im a customer for life. Come visit them and say hi. Get a tune up or buy some tire levers. This shop is the real deal and they deserve your money.

I normally do not write Google Reviews. I am inclined to write a review here because this business should be recognized. I am a novice pedal biker, I have a bike that I got at one of those big box stores and the brakes were not working. The guy that worked there looked at it and fixed the issue in less then 3 minutes. He did not charge me and explained to me how to properly shift gears and adjust the brakes. The problem with my bike was a simple fix and this place could have easily charged me an arm and a leg, because I did not know any better. Kind of like the stereotypical housewife that knows nothing about cars and gets ripped off by a mechanic. This shop seems to be ran by some good people and if I have a legitimate issue (or if I need a real tune-up) with my bike, and am in the NOVA/DC Area, I will not hesitate to give them my business. Its refreshing to see a good honest business that still exists.

I was in the middle of doing bike ride from Arlington to Mt. Vernon when I began experiencing problems with my seat. The seat post was sliding down. The bolt holding the seatpost collar was stripped. I stopped by the shop and it was recommended that I replace the seatpost collar. I was told it would be a bit expensive but not too much; $12. I said no problem. I was asked if I had a hex key set, I replied yes. Then the tech/salesman found the correct size collar, installed it and then said it would be $16. Beware-Ask about additional costs before purchasing or installation because you wont be told until afterwards. If I was told about the $16 in the beginning and before the installation, It would not have been a problem for me. Very deceptive practice.
