Dollar Aguadilla,good prices, availability,but the employee are lazy,will say what ever to get rid of you ,will give you the run arounds to make it imposible to rent from the company,we are in a middle of a pandemic,Dollar employees need to be a little flexible,and human till this is over,went to Hurts rent a car contrary to dollar,even though prices a little higher,they were much more flexible.

Good deal for the money. Shuttle waiting area was not marked or signs to direct car renters at Aguadilla airport toward the outside. Shuttle driver not to enthused and didnt get luggage to the van for a disabled person with a cane at the 11 oclock night time drop off, knowing that the airport line for agriculture check is extremely long.

Pretty bad service Ill say because online it said it would cost $200 but when I got there it costed $600 for the car since it also included tolls. Never again going to this company because they totally jipped me. Id rather go to some other car rental company. Didnt like the long wait either.

Getting the car was easy, returning it took forever and I told them I needed to catch my flight so if we can find a was to expedite the process it would be great, since I was there for over an hour. Once I said that I was I was out in 10 mins. Not the greatest at answering all my questions but it was 4 am so maybe the counter person was tired. I. The end it all worked out.

I highly suggest going through another rental company. 1. Customer service is horrible. When i arrived to location to get my rental it took over an hour in wait time since they only had one person working at the counter. Then she wanted to charge me extra since i did not get my car at the set time stipulated in the reservation, mind you i was there on time but was waiting over an hour just to get served. Why? The shuttle took over 30 minutes to arrive due to rain and when we arrived she was checking all those who needed to return their cars, including those who arrived after us. 2. Keep in mind that the amount stated on your reservation will not be the amount paid when you get to the counter, they charged us over $120 in taxes and fees above the price stated on their website. 3. When i returned my car they wanted to charge me $10 for returning my car early. The supervisor Carmen gives horrible customer service. According to her i returned my car early because i got my rental at 1:30 pm and i was returning it at 1:30 am, even though my reservation stated i had to return it at 1:30 am. She started arguing with my husband due to the over charge of $10, to the point where she told him to be quiet. Mind you he was not being irrate nor yelling at her. He was trying to explain to her that all the over charges are not stipulated in their policy. Since the moment i came in she had a very cold demeanor, she was not customer friendly and had an attitude. This will be my first and last time ever renting in this location. You are better off spending a little more at another rental car then coming through here. Avoid yourself a bad experience. She states she has 30 years experience working at rental cars, unfortunately her attitude states other wise. If anyone from Dollar corporate sees this, major customer servcie training is needed and clearer policies please. 5. Also they never pick up their phone. When i informed them that i was calling for a few days and no one answered the reply was they were having phone issues. The reality was while i was there the phone ranged and ranged and they never answered. They also requested me to send a fax and i told her i thought you were having phone line issues, to which she replied not with the fax. Worst experience of my life.

Don’t go to the beach if you rent from these ppl. They will charge you 100$ to vacuum it out. Don’t drive in dirty roads they will charge you to wash it it best if you detail the car before you drop it off. Only one rude lady at the counter the line is out the door do yourself a favor and rent from someone else

Very nice people!!! But we arrived at airport and waited over an hour to be picked up. Waited almost 3 hour on line just to get our rental car. We got so late to the place we.suppose to go after arrival. Resort almost close before we.got.there... bad experience... Only one driver/Porter...Only one person for all.the.customers....

Omg!!!Everyone reading this hopefully corporate too. DONT EVER rent a car in this place. Horrible customer service specially from the only counter short blondes lady with lack of personality and lack of good customer service. She dont even understand what the word customer service means. Sadly cause what I went through today and I hope no one go through. Im am from PR on vacation from us. I am a car rental customer for a long time with a few car rental companies and always had received excellent customer service from caring and professional people not this time. It worries me that anyone else come to PR specially for the 1st time and had to go through this horrible experiences with a si me thing as renting a car. I honestly some one need to investigate this people something fishy going on. How is possible that you pay in advanced for a car insurance and go to get your rental and they say to you they no longer accept that specific car ins. And when you question since when cause I wasnt notify in anyway they just say a few days ago and a morning notification and asked you to pay the double in car ins with them. Looks like a totally scam. Orbitz on the other had tried their best Nd very professional people that really show they care about good service

Horrible customer service from start to finish. Charge over $200 dollars over what I was quoted. The woman that helped me at the counter was rude and very short had a problem with me asking any questions. I travel a lot and have used many different companies and this one by far the worst experience I have had!! they have fees for everything even wear on the tires its ridiculous!

I wish I could give lower then 1 star they deserve -5 starts. DO NOT RENT HERE. I rented a car through them for 370 dollars. they told me that they were going to put a 200 dollar hold on my car until I gave the car back. This is normal. I see 570 taken from my card. This all makes since to me. I give the car back everything is good they said I will get the 200 back. It has been two weeks I have called and talk to every person there and they are just running me around. They stole my money. They wont tell me anything and are just telling me to call back later.

I rented a car at this location for a week, and they tried to charge me close to $900 for the rental even thought when I made the reservation online it was about $265, and I understand that that is not the actual amount but I didnt think it would be that big of a difference. The woman at the counter tried to charge me for insurance even though I bought separate insurance when I made the reservation, and I feel like she should have asked me instead of just automatically assuming I need the insurance. She was talking with her coworker while I was there and made the process longer. They need to take a course on basic customer service skills. I asked her to give me a breakdown of the prices and fees for the car but she said she could not give them to me until after she made the contract, and this is a first for me when renting a car. They always give me the breakdown BEFORE I sign anything. I ended up paying about $450 for the car, but I tried to add 2 extra people to the rental so they could drive it and she was not giving me the correct fees associated with it. I would not recommend this place to other people and I will never use them again. Just bad customer service.

After reading reviews about changing the fee I called before my rental and confirmed total cost. When I arrived, there were additional taxes added on. First we had to wait over 40 minutes to get picked up from airport. Then had to wait while one person checked your reservation, brought you out to your car, then checked for dents and scratches and had you sign papers. I felt sorry for the people in line behind us. At 4 am this was extremely painful process. Which didn’t stop then. Upon return of rental car another long wait for shuttle back to airport for flight home. First time and definitely last time I will rent from Dollar.

Arrived at 3am to pick up vehicle, car was dirty and had a crash in front, front desk guy was courteous and the shuttle driver helped much, however when I returned car I didnt recieved deposit on the 7th day called to verify my payment was being returned and a lady answered for front desk with nasty attitude couldnt even answer my question trying to get rid of call, I am a business owner myself and attention to customer is always a priority if she didnt have time all she had to do was place me on hold, never experienced a car rental place with such low customer service.

Rent a car through travelocity for $247.00, when I got there it was like $325.00 +$200.00 dollars deposit. Had a midsize car and they gave a Kia Soul. I couldnt hardly fit 2 small luggage that we had. Got the car and it was making a weird noise. Anyway, like 2 days later, I look at the tire in the back and it was bold on one side. I Bush I wish I could post the picture. I called them and they told me to go get another car. And that, they shouldve never gave that car. It was 2:00 am when I rented that car. When I got there a lady called Denise started treating me unprofessional and treating me bad. Never in my life for so mad, that I told her off. This is the first time I talk to someone like that. Im a customer and should be treated with respect. The a young guy was there and he helped me very professionally and respectful. I WILL NEVER , EVER RENT A CAR WITH DOLLAR RENT A CAR. Watch for hidden fees. Doesnt matter if you have a cc or returning flights. They hold 200. My 200 rental turned to almost 600 rental. The young man that took care of did his job well that was the only good thing. Also, not a lot of options for cars.

First of all, there wasnt anything GOOD about the experience. The pick up van was packed like sardines. My wife had to wait for a second van to be transported to the site. That meant I had to be responsible for our luggage while I waited in line for her to show up. Oh, the line took us 2 1/2 hours before we got out of there. Come on people, most of us had reservations so you knew WHAT to expect. There was one person at the counter. We will NEVER use them again EVER.

I rented a car for a family emergency I had from dollar rental in San Juan about a week ago, and was involved in a bad car accident two nights ago. The police determined the accident wasnt my fault because I was at a stop sign and the car slammed into me. Anyways the car got sent to this location in aguadilla because it was the closer location. When I arrive to get another car that stupid lady Carmen refused to help me unless I signed a paper taking full responsibility for a totaled car and pay the damages. Worst customer service ever I will never rent from them and refuse to pay for a totaled car. She should be fired for her stupidity. Avoid this company completely

Customer service SUCKS. Ended up paying way more for a rental that was falling apart. Only car they had available. So many hidden charges it was RIDICULOUS. Tried to use my own insurance and car rental price would go up almost $150 for a reason that could not be explained to me. The rep had an attitude the moment you walk in. Would not recommend this company, this location or their crappy cars.

Experience horrible. There was no signs of where the place is located at, waited about an hour to get the car, the associate looked like he did not want to be there at all and did not offer any toll service. When back to return the car. They charged me the fee for tolls plus a $50 charge for not adding the toll service, they assumed everyone kniws how the systems works in Puerto Rico. Then I tell the lady to hold on so I can transfer the money back to the checking account and shes arguing that they will not take anymore than what tjey out on hold. Well if my account is not showing money it means that what you have on hold is not there so i have to transfer. All of this with attitude. If you choose this place make sure you ask even the dumbest question cuz they wont advice you at all...

Rented a vehicle from them last summer. It was given to me dirty and with lots of cosmetic damage, which by the way and upon returning the vehicle and after closing the contract this lady Carmen slapped me with a 500 dollars charge for an already existing damage. Given the fact I had my own insurance with my credit card I filed a claim but then again she wouldnt provide them with actual proof. Because the so called damage was discovered after closing the contract, I proceeded to dispute the charge therefore winning the case. If you are going to rent a car from this agency make sure You inspect this vehicle personally, even if it means going over several times. That way you avoid a headache. Thank you.

This was my first time renting a car from Dollar Rent A Car. It was the absolute worst experience of my life. The car was given to me dirty, marked with scratches, the bumper was poorly held up by screws, and with half a tank of gas. I reported this to one of the staff in charge named Luis and he told me he would take care of it. When I came back to return the car, no one had previous knowledge of my complaints that I mentioned before. Carmen, who was one of the main staff members, assured that all of our needs would be met, however everything was a complete disaster. She was rude and unkind. One statement in particular, I stated that I went through 2 tolls, she was almost too eager to fine us. Her exact words were luckily you told me I would have wrote you guys a $250 fine with pure sarcasm and eagerness. I explained to her that I wanted to take care of the financial situation on the spot. She assured me that we would. However now that I am home and back in the United States I have yet to see my card charged and Im waiting to see if another issue occurs which it most likely will. To my surprise I actually returned the car a day early and didnt receive any discount as promised. I will make sure to advise anyone thinking about going to Dollar Rent A Car to think twice so they wont have to suffer the same experience i suffered. Absolutely disgusted with the service never going to be using again.

Carmen who i found out is one of the bosses, is the worst customer service person i have ever met. For being my first time in Puerto Rico and trying to rent a car i will not recommend this place to anyone. I will not recommend this business. They add on more and more taxes, and tolls charges daily even when you dont go on a toll road. The same amount of time was $200. Less with enterprise or national. Lastly, we received a dirty vevjilr, which j smell of cigarettes. As though someone was smoking a carton of cigarettes.

This was by far my worst rental car experience. So bad, I had to share it. We booked a car days in advance of our arrival to Aguadilla. Our reservation was for four days and we got our confirmation email. At the airport I called Dollar at my reserved time 10:00 am. They told me they didnt have any cars available and to call back later around 2:00 pm... what? I made this reservation days ago. So I give them the benefit of the doubt and called back at 2:00 pm. This time they told me that we wont be getting one at all because they had absolutely no cars available. So that left us SOL. I feel so bad for the people who have been abused by this company. The best part is they didnt call me at any point before my reservation to tell me that no more cars were available nor did they offer any type of resolution.

Although car was a decent size the Car interior and exterior were so dirty on arrival . The inside console was sticky from spilled soda and outside was all dirty... And their response to that was jokingly saying it’s because the island is low on water.. so basically we pay full price for a dirty car?Besides that their employees also did not explain toll fees properly. Honestly though, This is how all car rental agency’s make a profit .. they hope tourists make “accident tolls” so they can make $50 profits off $1 tolls.. . stick with enterprise car rental who will at least work with you and not ruin your vacation. They said there isn’t any cash lanes and the epass was inactive so that’s why they have the fines. yeah right! Is that why the toll agent said it was green to pass??Honestly, I don’t even care about the fee anymore I care about the PRINCIPLE.. Just own up to your terrible policy and lie... The pass is certainly not inactivated.. that’s so false if the toll agent himself said it worked in the lane.. how else would an inactive pass work?Lastly, I won’t post names but the lady who checked us out had such an attitude. Sometimes giving bad news that you can’t change can be said in a way that doesn’t kill someone’s entire day.. She could of just sympathized and we would of been over it knowing ultimately it’s not even her fault. I made an online reservation for 5 days, the car was ready, full gas tank and cleaned. Beware the online price is with out taxes, insurance and government fees, and still a better price than the others companies. When I returned the car I forgot my cellphone in the car, I called the office and they found it and brought it back to me at the airport. Thanks!

Bad experience with this rental company. The customer service rep was very rude and unprofessional. I made a reservation through a third party and the estimated cost was way off. When I went to pick up the car, they charged me almost 3 times the estimated taxes and fees; and that was before adding any extras. I ended up paying more than I would’ve with the competition. I also had to wait about 45 minutes in line in order to get the car. The car I got had been in a minor accident and they didn’t care to fix it before making it available for rent again. Don’t be fooled by this company. Save yourself some trouble and rent your car elsewhere.

I will never rent from this company again, unexpected charges, bad customer service, long wait. I was there for 3 hours trying to resolve the issue myself. The reservation was originally a total of $204, once there Dollar wanted to charge me $390 plus a $200 deposit. I traveled with a budget and I never expected that. I had cut on days to be able to afford it. The other customers there had similar issues to mine, where they did not expect so much in charges.Once I returned the car the supervisor wanted to charge me $100 more. When I asked what the charges were she replied for the contract and that I was charged less by the agent who checked me in. I asked about 5 more times to specifically tell me what the charges were for and she kept repeating for the contract. Once the same agent who fixed my contract upon arrival came back from her break (Denise) she actually looked at the contract and realized that they were charging me twice for the taxes which were 30% of the total reservation.Denise was very helpful since I first arrived but the supervisor did not want to even look at the contract her attitude was very discourteous and uncooperative, she had no desire to help me or even take her time to resolve my issue, she just wanted to charge me and for me to pay what she said. It really made me very upset and tainted my whole vacation. I do not recommend this company nor will ever use it again. After the bad experience I looked up the reviews and a lot of people who rented here had really bad experiences as well. As of right now I dont even want to return to Puerto Rico, thanks to Dollar!

Please do not rent a car in this place they will charge you extra for everything. They will charge you more taxes when you get the car so dont be surprised, the car rental was;$425 online with taxes but when you go and pick up the car they will charge you more in Taxes, we pay $247 more in some taxes and $83.37 in toll because I told them I pass one toll by mistake and they charge me the whole time I had the car even I didnt use the tolls... Really bad customer service they dont care about the customer its just the money... I hate to put bad reviews but I think you should have the right to know. They dont even deserve one star... please go to another car rental because if you think you saving money with this car rental??? youre really not saving nothing at all....

Do not do it! Dont waste your time or money. BS hidden fees. We waited an hour and a half at 3am for the shuttle...The airport is 4min from the rental car facility. We called 11 times they said the driver was on his way... It took him an hour and a half to get 4min up the road. We arrived there was one person working. It took another 2 hours to get the rental and we had to wait to have it cleaned. There was a line out the door behind us. God bless the people behind us they must have waited all day. It was anightmare all said in done we got in our car 4 hours after we landed. Ohh also I paid in full online and when arrived I paid $250 in excess BS fees. Not cheaper than other options and the worst experience I have ever dealt with.

I reserved a car to be picked up at noon. They did I not have car because they over book. The attendant told me that they over book because after 2.5 hr of waiting and several phone calls I decided to walk to their location. At their locations he told me that they will no going to have car until midnight. Very dishonest individual which I guess is a reflection of a very dishonest management.

They never sent the shuttle to pick us up at the airport , we would call , they never pick up the phone. So we walk to the place . We had a reservation but they had no cars. A few people where left stranded at the airport. I finally got a car and the price was almost double what I was quoted on price line. They should have at least sented the shuttle to let people know they had no cars.

I now understandway its called Dollar Rent A Car, thats because when you rent from them, youll be paying more DOLLARS for your rental. Please read more reviews and dont come here.This place was a bad experience to being with. The customer service girl was upset because her coworker called out sick and she had to stay working an extra shift. So she was not happy to begin my story. Mind you, I had nothing to do with that.First you go on line and you get a price. I took the specialty dealer select your car with a compact as the smallest car at time of pick up. Then when you get there the price changes higher. When I show them my on line paperwork copy says my price is locked, they make up some BS story to me. When I call the on line price place I went on, they say they should have honored my price locked. So I was taken for an extra $112 more for my rental. Thats ok because, catch me once, shame on you but catch me twice, shame on me. That wont ever happen again. You will not get my business or cash ever. I recommend that you go to other car rental spots before this company.My only reason why I gave them one stars is because I told them I needed a bigger car then a compact and they gave me one size bigger to standard size. They didnt seem happy to do it either. Thats because at the time I booked with them about 3 1/2 months in advance, it was my wife and me alone but two weeks before we left for vacation we had some friends who wanted to meet us for vacation in PR to spend a few days together. So we had 4 adults in the car.

I have to agree with most of these reviews and say that this was very unsatisfying. When I showed up at the rental facility there were hidden fees that ended up way higher than my reservation price, which I had paid before we left for our trip. I had prepaid $246.00 for the car rental and when we showed up at the front desk.... the rental ended up costing $450.000 for 4 days of use not including the price of gas. I have rented cars at BQN airport many times, this was my first using Dollar and was by far the worst and most expensive experience. I will never use dollar again, and I only encourage others to learn from my mistake.

Very bad experience the lady in front desk is very rude , rented a car they handed it dirty . Returned the vehicle its been two weeks and Im still waiting for my deposit and no answer dont rent from them its horrible bad customer service and over priced .

The most unprofessional people in town! They did not explained me anything . They gave me an hour To returned the car and charge me extra $60 for couple hours that I was late. They never explain to me what time I was supposed to return the car . They only said they open at 11:00 p.m. Do yourself a favor and never rent with them!

This is the worst rental ever. I have been here an hour and half and still havent been assisted. There is only one person accepting rental returns, getting rental information for customers and going out and getting the rental cars. I expect to be here for at least another 30-45 minutes.
